|b The tribe of Ouled Nehar is the most consanguineous population in western Algeria .The present work has a twofold objective: - to grasp the philosophy of cohesion adopted by the Ouled Nehar through the study of their matrimonial strategies; the second goal assigned by this paper is to evaluate the impact of these strategies on the health profile. To carry out this study, we conducted a field survey on a sample of 371 couples randomly selected from the polyclinic of Sidi Djilali. The results indicate a high level of inbreeding and extremely high ethno-spatial endogamy, and confirm by the increased incidence of morbid diseases in consanguineous individuals.

|d La tribu d’Ouled Nehar est la population la plus consanguine dans l’Ouest algérien .Le présent travail vise un double objectif :- saisir la philosophie de cohésion adoptée par les Ouled Nehar, à travers l’étude de leurs stratégies matrimoniales ;-Le second but assigné par ce papier consiste à évaluer l’impact de ces stratégies sur le profil de la santé Pour réaliser cette étude, nous avons mené une enquête de terrain sur un échantillon de 371 couples pris au hasard dans la polyclinique de Sidi Djilali. Les résultats font état d’une endogamie familiale importante et ethno-spatiale extrêmement élevée, ainsi que confirme l’augmentation de l’incidence d’affections morbides chez les individus consanguins.
