المستخلص: لايزال الباحث المختص في تاريخ الجزائر القديم خصوصا وتاريخ بلاد المغرب القديم عموما، يعاني في تعامله مع الإسطوغرافية الاستعمارية، ذلك أننا ورثنا عن الحقبة الكولونيالية ركاما من الأبحاث في التاريخ القديم، ومن البديهي أن معظمه لا كله انطبع بتأويلات تنم عن روح العصر الذي كتب فيه، كما أنه كأي إنتاج أخر تضمن الغث والسمين، وإذا كان المختصون متفقين على أنه ذو قيمة وثائقية، وأنه لا مناص من التعامل معه -ومع ما يصدر الآن أيضا -بروح نقدية، ولكن بدون تشنج، ولا إقصاء مسبق، فإن الهدف -طبعا -هو تجاوزه علميا قصد الرقي بالبحث الوطني إلى مستوى رصين، يفرض نفسه على الساحة العلمية، وفي ذات الوقت إثراء الخزانة العربية بما يغني القارئ العربي شيئا فشيئا عن أطروحات استعمارية متجاوزة....."(1). يروم هذا المقال إلى التفكير في إعداد تصور عام لإعادة كتابة تاريخ الجزائر في القديم بطريقة تبعده عن كل تحامل كالذي ساده خلال الفترة الاستعمارية، ولتحقيق ذلك وكتابة تاريخ متكامل، لا بد من مراعاة التأثيرات الداخلية أي المحلية، ولا نكتب التاريخ انطلاقا من التأثيرات الخارجية فقط كما كان معمولا به في السابق، كما لابد من إعادة صياغة الإشكالات وتجاوز تلك التي أصبحت بمثابة مسلمات وبخاصة ما يتعلق بمفهوم مجال وزمان التاريخ الجزائري القديم، وأصل ساكنة الجزائر في القديم، وأصل الحضارة النيوليتية ونشأة المدن وبداية الفترة القديمة وغيرها من الإشكاليات، وقبل هذا وذاك لابد لنا من وقفة نتعرف من خلالها على دواعي اهتمام المؤرخين الغربيين عموما والفرنسيين منهم على وجه الخصوص بتاريخ الجزائر القديم ومنهاجهم في دراسته.

The researcher specialized in the Algerian ancient history especially and the history of the ancient Maghreb in general, is still suffering when dealing with the colonial historiography, because we inherited from the colonial period a set of researches in ancient history, and it is obvious that the interpretations of most of these researches- not all of them- inspired from the era in which they were written. So they included – as any production- the wheat and the chaff, even specialists recognize their documentary value, and that we are obliged to deal with them – and also with the new publications- in a critical spirit, but without tenses nor advanced exclusion, the aim- of course - is to transcend them scientifically in order to promote national research to a level of rigidity and objectivity, imposing itself on The scientific arena, and at the same time enriching the Arab corpus, thereby enriching the Arab reader little by little about theses colonial thesis. This article aims at reflecting on the creation of a general vision to rewrite the history of Algeria in the past, far away from any prejudices that prevailed during the colonial period. To attain this aim and write an integrated history, we have to take in consideration the internal impacts (local ones), and not only from external impacts as researches did in the past. It is also compulsory to reproduce the problematic and questions, transcending the stereotypes especially those related to the antiquity and the appearance of writing , the concept of space and time of ancient history, the origin of Algeria's old population, the origin of Neolithic civilization, the emergence of cities and other questions, and before all, we have to make pause to discover why are the Western historians in general -and French in particular- interested in the history of Algeria and their method in its study.
