|b The contact of languages in Algeria gives rise to consequences in the language practices of the speakers. In fact, Algerians use languages and varieties of languages in their daily communications. The socio-professional space is a place where language practice undergoes many sociolinguistic phenomena. We quote the code switching. Through recording conversations in hospital we tried to show in this article the way in which staff alternate dialectal Arabic and French especially in the less formal discussions. The frequency of these alternations varies from one service to another and also varies according to the socio-professional status of each speaker of this place.

|d Le contact des langues en Algérie donne lieu à des conséquences au niveau des pratiques langagières des locuteurs. En effet, les algériens recourent à des langues et des variétés de langues dans leurs communications quotidiennes. L’espace socioprofessionnel est un lieu où la pratique des langues subit de moult phénomènes sociolinguistiques. Nous citerons l’alternance codique. A travers l’enregistrement de conversations dans le milieu hospitalier nous avons essayé de montrer dans cet article la manière par laquelle le personnel alterne l’arabe dialectal et le français surtout dans les discussions les moins formelles. La fréquence de ces alternances varie d’un service à l’autre et varie aussi par rapport au statut socioprofessionnel de chaque locuteur.
