هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى بيان واقع تطبيق معيار وصف المصادر وإتاحتها (RDA)، كما سلطت الضوء على الخطط المستقبلية بخصوص هذا المعيار بالمكتبات السودانية، بجانب بيان مستقبل قواعد الفهرسة الأنجلو أمريكية، ولبيان ذلك تم إجراء دراسة ميدانية استخدم فيها المنهج المسحي لعدد من المكتبات المختلفة (جامعية، متخصصة، عامة)، تم جمع البيانات عن طريق الاستبانة؛ كما شملت الدراسة أقسام المكتبات بالجامعات السودانية للتأكد من الواقع الفعلي لمعيار وصف المصادر وإتاحتها (RDA) في المناهج الدراسية. كما خلصت الدراسة إلى عدة نتائج أبرزها أن 25% من عينة الدراسة تطبق معيار وصف المصادر وإتاحتها (RDA) فعليا، ومن المتوقع أن ترتفع هذه النسبة إلى 60% حسب الخطط الموضوعة من إدارات المكتبات محل الدراسة، كما أوضحت الدراسة أن هناك قلة من مجتمع المكتبيين تعارض هذا التحول على الرغم من المزايا التي يوفرها هذا المعيار للمستفيد والمكتبة على حد سواء، كما أبانت المشاكل والمعوقات التي تواجه المكتبات في مشوار تحولها إلى تبني معيار وصف المصادر واتاحتها (RDA). في المجال الأكاديمي أهم نتائج الدراسة تلخصت في ضعف وجود معيار وصف المصادر وإتاحتها (RDA) في المناهج الدراسية والتدريب المقدم للطلاب بأقسام المكتبات بالجامعات السودانية. وعلى ضوء النتائج خرج الباحث بعدد من التوصيات أهمها ضرورة العمل على تعريب معيار وصف المصادر وإتاحتها (RDA)، وتضمينه من قبل المؤسسات المعنية في المناهج الدراسية، وتقديم التدريب الكافي للطلاب والعاملين بالفهرسة.
The importance of the study comes from the importance of its subject as the year 2010 is a breakthrough in the world of libraries with the issuance of the Rules of resource description and access (RDA), which has posed a serious challenge to the catalogers, researchers and technicians, practice and application, in the field of libraries, documentation and information in general, and those interested in cataloging the recorded information resources on different forms and types, in particular. The study aimes to show the reality of applying the RDA and highlighted the future plans for this Rules in the Sudanese libraries, as well as the future of the Anglo-American cataloging rules in addition, a field study was conducted using the survey method for a number of different libraries (University, Specialized and Public). The data were collected by questionnaire. The study also included the library Departments in the Sudanese universities to ascertain the actual reality of the RDA in the curriculum. After collecting and analyzing the data, the study has come out with number of results of which the most notable are: 25% of the study sample has actually applied the standard of resource description and access (RDA), and within the next five years, this percentage will be raised to 60% according to the plans set by the departments of the libraries under study. The study also showed that there is a limited number of the library community opposing this shift on the number in spite of the advantages this standard provides to both the user and the library alike. This study aimed at reflecting the impact if implementing the resource description and access (RDA) method a long side with the Anglo-American cataloging rolls and its future in Sudanese libraries. It has also investigated the existence and effect of (RDA) on Sudanese curricula. For more accurate data, a field study on some Sudanese libraries has been conducted. Both survey and questionnaire techniques have been used. In light of findings, the researcher has recommended that the method of (RDA) must be implemented at the whole Sudanese libraries. In addition, it should be used in the educational curricula, and provide a free training for both students and librarians.
