520		\|b The purpose of this article is to produce an economic analysis on the consequences of variations in oil prices on the monetary policy of the Bank of Algeria between 1980 and 2020. The results of this study highlight that there are several periods effectiveness of monetary policy in the face of oil shocks, while this policy is totally ineffective during other periods.
