The paper provides a comprehensive study on the amphora jar; its name definition in the ancient Egyptian language, its meanings cited in dictionaries as a Latin word, and its styles in general. Amphora is defined as the jar with a narrow mouth and two handles on both sides. This paper, mainly, reviews the amphora's contents and styles, whether they are enlisted on tombs and temples walls’ registers or depicted on those walls’ scenes as imported from abroad through either the exchange of commercial goods or presenting gifts to ancient Egypt. The paper provides an extensive overview of what is related to the amphora in terms of the internal and external sealing stoppers and their decoration, and the accompanying seals on the body of the jar. It sorts out the most important scenes depicted on tombs and temples walls which represents the most important offering representations and different ways of portraying the amphora regarding the body shape, the different forms of seals -including plantform, animal form, or human form- and what was found as an independent existing vessel. Taking all that into consideration, this research paper extrapolates the historical and political connotations of what the amphora contents stand for in the scope of Egypt's relationship with neighbor kingdoms of the Near East, in order to shed more light on the diplomatic and commercial exchange between them. The amphora had an important value in the diplomatic relationships between Egypt and the countries of the ancient Near East, and this material value was largely concerned with its contents.
