The aim of this paper is to study the titles appeared in a part of the western at Giza, the so called “The Minor Cemetery” discovered by Fisher, and answering a question if it is assigned to special class of the employees and individuals or in another say, if the titles and position played a role in the division of the cemetery? It is noted in the titles studied that the prevalence of honorific titles such as the title of rx -nsw known to the king; some of the individuals had religious and priestly titles such as Hm-nTr, Hm-kA and Wab, These titles were not given at the highest executive level of the priests; The functional titles that we are dealing with in the cemetery were in the context of the small jobs such as the supervisor of the Washers and the supervisor of the rope of the boat; other titles of the class of assistant staff such as the assistant of the commander of the army or received, The titles that were especially associated with women are "mitrt, Xkrt, honorific titles for married women who are considered to be part of the administrative structure of the Royal House. This variety of functions and titles and their degree in the administrative stair indicate that the Royal Court architects, when they divided the spaces into equal and coordinated spaces and determined the size of the large Mastabas for the elites, also determined an area assigned to this minor class of staff to the edge of the royal cemetery. Of course they were subject to the king's command. |
