المستخلص: انطلاقا من الاهتمام الدولي والإقليمي والوطني والمحلي بفئة الشباب، واعتماد الأمم المتحدة يوم ١٢ أغسطس يوما دوليا للشباب يحتفل به سنويا بدأ من عام 2000، سعت الدراسة الحالية نحو التعرف على بناء القدرات الاجتماعية لدي الشباب كتوجه نحو مشاركتهم في قضايا التنمية بالمجتمع الإماراتي، وقد تحددت متغيرات بناء القدرات الاجتماعية في بناء القدرة علي (تحمل المسئولية الاجتماعية- والمشاركة الاجتماعية- والتواصل الاجتماعي)، كما استهدفت الدراسة تحديد العلاقة بين بعض المتغيرات الديمجرافية وبناء القدرات الاجتماعية للشباب كتوجه نحو مشاركهم في قضايا التنمية بالمجتمع الإماراتي، وذلك عن طريق اختبار فرضياتها الرئيسية المتضمنة من المتوقع وجود علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين بعض المتغيرات الديمجرافية للدراسة وبناء القدرات الاجتماعية للشباب كتوجه نحو مشاركتهم في قضايا التنمية بالمجتمع الإماراتي، ومن المتوقع وجود علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين بناء القدرات الاجتماعية للشباب وتوجهاتهم نحو المشاركة في قضايا التنمية بالمجتمع الإماراتي، وتم استخدام منهج المسح الاجتماعي بالعينة العشوائية البسيطة وتضمنت عينة الدراسة (٢٨٦) مفردة، وتم استخدام استبانة من إعداد الباحثة، وذلك للتوصل إلى نتائج الدراسة وتحليها، وقد أسفرت نتائج الدراسة إلى صحة فرضياتها، كما كشفت النتائج أن عملية بناء القدرات الاجتماعية للشباب تزيد من فرص مشاركتهم بقضايا التنمية، ولن تتحقق المشاركة في الأنشطة التنموية بالمجتمع إلا من خلال تحسين الأداء الاجتماعي للشباب عن طريق بناء قدراتهم، كما أن هناك تأييدا واضحا لفكرة العمل الفريقي واعتبار المسؤولية الاجتماعية بمثابة نجاح لأي عمل تنموي.

In light of the international, regional, national and local interest in the youth category, and the approval by the United Nations on August 12 of an international youth day celebrated annually starting in the year 2000, the current study seeks to identify the social capacity building of youth as an orientation towards their participation in development issues in the Emirati society , The variables of social capacity building have been determined in building the capacity of: social responsibility, social participation, and social communication. Moreover, this study aimes at determining the relationship between some demographic variables and the social capabilities building for youth as an orientation towards their participation in development issues in the Emirati society; this is done by testing its main assumptions, which include a statistically significant relationship between some of the demographic variables of the study and the social capabilities building for youth as an orientation towards their participation in development issues in the Emirati society. It is expected that there is a statistically significant relationship between the social capabilities building for youth and their orientation towards participating in development issues in the Emirati society. The social survey method is used with a simple random sample. The study sample includes 286 individuals, and a questionnaire is used by the researcher. The results of the study prove the validity of its hypotheses. The results reveal that the process of the social capabilities building of youth increases their chances of participating in development issues. Participation in development activities in society will only be achieved through improving the social performance of youth by building their capabilities. There is also clear support for the idea of teamwork and considering social responsibility as a success for any development work
