المستخلص: The research aims to identify the skills and dimensions of the Mental Skills Scale for Athletes (OMSAT-3) characteristic of the first-level group and the second-level group for basketball players in the State of Kuwait and to identify the indicators of differentiation analysis between the two groups in the dimensions of the mental skills scale for athletes, and then develop the differentiation function (the standard function) And the non-standard function) to analyze the discrimination between the two groups. The research sample was deliberately chosen from high-level players in first-class clubs in the State of Kuwait. The total sample of the research included (92) players whose ages ranged between (18 to 27 years (. On the 74 players who were divided into two levels, the first group of first-level players who obtained positions from the first to the third and their number (33) players and the second level group who obtained the ranks from the fourth to the sixth and their number (41) players, the researcher used the Ottawa scale of mental skills for athletes ((Omsat) -3 Mental Skills Athletes Tools - 3), and the results showed that the first- level group was distinguished from the second-level group with mental skills. A function was also obtained to distinguish between the two levels in the mental skills of basketball players.
