المستخلص: The purpose of this article is to get to know the oil market and how it works, going over its detailed structure, and look at how it has changed over time. It will then be a question of evaluating the energy issues of this planetary battle being waged, on the one hand, by consumer countries, and on the other hand, producer countries, especially Arab countries. The study will attempt to answer the following question: What will be the prospects for oil and gas production in the next century? The study reveals that it remains difficult to determine the part of the shock attributable to different transient causes than that rooted in lasting factors.

L’objet de cet article est de bien connaître le marché pétrolier et son fonctionnement en revenant sur sa structure détaillée, et de s’intéresser à son évolution au fil du temps. Il sera question, ensuite, d’évaluer les enjeux énergétiques de cette bataille planétaire que mènent, d’un côté les pays consommateurs, et d’un autre côté les pays producteurs notamment arabes. L’étude tentera de répondre à la question suivante: quelles seront les perspectives de production de pétrole et de gaz dans le siècle à venir? L'étude révèle qui il reste difficile de déterminer la part du choc attribuable à des différentes causes transitoires de celle qui s’enracine dans des facteurs durables.
