تهتم هذه الدراسة بتحليل مسرحية "تتنازل لتنتصر" لغولدسميث وفق أنموذج ارميدا(2008) وتعد هذه المسرحية من أهم الأعمال المشهورة في الأدب الإنجليزي والعالمي وتعتبر أدبيا كوميديا السلوك لأنها مرتبطة بسياقات اجتماعية ولغوية ذات دلالات مثيرة للاهتمام. لهذا السبب، تم اختيارها للتحليل في هذه الدراسة تداوليا حيث يسهل الأنموذج دراسة الخطاطات الذهنية التي تتبع النسق الفكاهي في النصوص. هذه الدراسة لا تتبع نموذج التحليل كما هو وتتوقف عند ذلك الحد وإنما أجريت بعض التعديلات بالإضافة إلى تقديم تقنية إضافية تسمى التحليل المعجمي، حيث يتم تحليل الموضوعات الرئيسية في المسرحية رقميا لإبراز أهميتها من وجهة نظر لغوية تخدم الخطاطة الذهنية. بذلك اشتملت الدراسة على بعض التعديلات التي أجراها الباحث على الأنموذج أثناء تطبيقه على النص الأدبي المطول وهو كوميديا السلوك "تتنازل لتنتصر". وفي الختام خلصت الدراسة إلى نتائج كانت أبرزها: قابلية تطبيق نموذج ارميدا(2008) على مسرحية "تتنازل لتنتصر"، وقابلية الأنموذج للتوسيع والتعديل لتحليل النصوص الدرامية الأطول، واكتشاف قدرة القارئ على تصور النص فكاهي باتباع تحليل الخطاطة الذهنية من وجهة نظر تداولية.
This study is concerned with analyzing Goldsmith's "She Stoops to Conquer" according to the model of Ermida(2008). This play is considered one of the most well-known works in the English and the world literature, and is considered a comedy of manners, because it is linked to social and linguistic contexts and values. For this reason, it was chosen for analysis in this study from a pragmatic point of view, as the model facilitates the study of verbal humour scripts in the texts. The study does not purport to follow the model of analysis as it is. Rather, some amendment as well as an additional technique called the lexico-metric analysis is annexed, whereby the major themes in the play are numerically analyzed so as to highlight their significance from a linguistic point of view. Thus, the study includes some modifications on the model under study done by the researcher to match lengthy literary texts. The study's results are: the applicability of Ermida's model(2008) to the comedies of manners She Stoops to Conquer, the model's flexibility to be expanded and modified to analyze the longer humorous texts of drama, and the detection of the reader's ability to conceptualize the humorous text by following the script analysis from a pragmatic point of view.
