The Arab League was established in 1945, and the nationalists promised it that it was the nucleus of the desired unity among the Arabs, and as a result there were attempts that lacked seriousness in establishing unity between Iraq and Jordan in 1947, and between Iraq and Syria in 1953, in which the colonial powers played a major role in preventing the establishment of Arab unity in order to preserve On its interests in the region, and after the tripartite aggression against Egypt in 1956, attention turned to Gamal Abdel Nasser after his victorious exit from the war, as well as linking the Arab cause to the person of Gamal Abdel Nasser through the statements of the President of the United States of America, Dwight Eisenhower, and his Secretary of State John Foster Dulles when They talked a lot about "the danger of Abdel Nasser's approach." The first achievement of Arab rapprochement was the establishment of Arab unity between the two countries of Egypt and Syria in 1958 in the name of the United Arab Republic headed by Gamal Abdel Nasser.
