المستخلص: هذا البحث يحاول مقاربة مفهوم "التنمية المستدامة" كمصطلح أممي حديث، ظهر في أواخر القرن العشرين مرتبطا بقضايا البيئة والمناخ، ويتغيا في جوهره تجويد نمط عيش الإنسان وحفظ الموارد الطبيعية، وضمان استدامتها في المستقبل، مراعاة لاحتياجات الأجيال القادمة. ويبين البحث السياق التاريخي لتبني مختلف دول العالم فكرة التنمية المستدامة، في عدة قمم تاريخية تحت رعاية الأمم المتحدة، حيث التزم أثناءها القادة والزعماء بالعمل على تحقيق مختلف الأبعاد الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والبيئية للتنمية المستدامة، إلا أن مرحلة التنفيذ تطلبت منهم إيجاد موارد مالية إضافية لتمويل متطلبات مخططاتهم الوطنية للتنمية المستدامة، الشيء الذي طرح إشكالية التمويل لدى العديد من الدول والحكومات الفقيرة والنامية. ويناقش البحث إشكالية الآليات والمصادر التي يمكن للدول الإسلامية أن تعتمدها في سعيها لتحقيق وتمويل متطلبات وأبعاد التنمية المستدامة، إذ أنه في هذا السياق يمكن اعتبار العمل الخيري والتطوعي بوصف عام، ونظام الوقف على وجه الخصوص، من الآليات الشريكة والمصادر الأصيلة في الإسلام، التي تدعم وتعزز أهداف وأبعاد التنمية المستدامة، باعتبار ما يوفره النظام الوقفي الإسلامي من متطلبات الاستدامة وعناصر الاستمرارية، وبالنظر للأصول المتنوعة والموارد الاستثمارية الغنية التي يحوزها الوقف بهذه الدول.

This research attempts to approach the concept of sustainable development as a modern international term, related to environmental and climate issues that appeared in the late twentieth century. Therefore, this concept tries to improve the human way of life and preserve natural resources to ensure our sustainability in the future, while taking into account the needs of the future generations. The research shows the historical context of the idea of sustainable development that was adopted by various countries in the world at several historic summits under the auspices of the United Nations. Moreover, the leaders and presidents of the countries were committed to work to achieve the various economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development. However, the implementation phase required them to find additional financial resources to finance the requirements of their national sustainable development plans, which posed the financial problem among many poor and developed countries and governments. The research discusses problems of the mechanism partners and sources that Islamic countries can adopt in their quest to achieve and finance the requirements and dimensions of sustainable development. Therefore, both charitable and voluntary work in general, and the "waqf" system in particular, can be considered as mechanism partners and authentic sources in Islam that support and promote the goals and dimensions of sustainable development, taking into consideration the requirements of the Islamic waqf system and the elements of continuity, and considering the diverse assets and rich investment resources held by the waqf in these countries.
