|b The economic importance of remittances in Tunisia is always at the center of policies and strategic orientations. This financial source from the diaspora can play a leading role in the economic growth, and social well-being in the areas of migrants departure, which are sometimes arid, and strong tendency to international migration. As its role may be insignificant if the volume is low or in the case of bad valorization of transfers in non-productive investments. The object of this paper is to analyze the impact of remittances from the Tunisian diaspora on economic development. Two dimensions were analyzed and discussed. The national dimension analyzes the importance of remittances at the country level, but the local dimension is interested in the case study an arid territory of south-eastern Tunisia. The Microeconomic, and macroeconomic prospects are studied using the available statistical data, and the results of socioeconomic household surveys.

|d L’importance économique des transferts de fonds en Tunisie est toujours au centre des politiques et des orientations stratégiques du pays. C’est ainsi, que cette source financière issue de la diaspora tunisienne à l’étranger peut jouer un rôle prépondérant dans la croissance économique et le bien-être social du pays, y compris les zones de départ des migrants qui sont parfois à caractère aride et à forte tendance à la migration internationale. Comme son rôle peut être insignifiant si le volume est faible ou dans le cas d’une mauvaise valorisation des transferts sous forme d’investissements non productifs. L’objet de ce papier est d’analyser l’impact des transferts de fonds de la diaspora tunisienne à l’étranger sur le développement économique. Deux dimensions emboîtées ont été analysées et discutées. La dimension nationale met l'accent sur l’importance des transferts à l’échelle du pays. La dimension locale s'intéresse à une étude de cas se rapportant à un territoire aride de Sud-est tunisien. Les perspectives micro-économiques et macro-économiques sont étudiées moyennant les données statistiques disponibles et les résultats des enquêtes socio-économiques auprès des ménages.
