|a أبرز البحث أنواع العملات وقيمتها التي كانت متداولة خلال النصف الأول من القرن التاسع عشر، وأوضح البحث جهود مجلس الشورى لضبط الأسعار ومراقبة الموازين ومعاقبة الغشاشين (الفلقة). تم عرض جداول متعددة بأسعار الخضار والفواكه والقمح والشعير واللحوم ومواد البناء والمواد المستعملة. وبين البحث كذلك أسعار العقارات وأجورها، وأضاء على جانب مهم وهو الرواتب والأجور لكبار الموظفين والأغوات دمشق بأقسامها الثمانية ورواتب العلماء وغيرهم، حيث تبين لنا من خلال هذه الرواتب مستوى المعيشة بدمشق لمعظم فئات السكان."
