ذكر علماء النحو أن أدلة النحو الإجمالية؛ هي السماع والإجماع والقياس، ومنهم من أضاف استصحاب الحال. وأن الإجماع هو: الاتفاق على الأمر إذا اتفقوا عليه. وأنه في الاصطلاح: إجماع نحاة البلدين البصرة والكوفة. ويقول العلماء أن إجماع العرب حجة. والإجماع أصل من أصول الفقه. وتمتنع مخالفة جميع العرب والنحويين عند سيبويه، وأستند حكم إجماع النحاة على أصول الفقه. ترى لماذا؟ لأن أحكام الفقه وأصوله أحكام جامعة مانعة ومحكمة، لذا رأى النحاة، لنحوهم هذا الإحكام والدقة، فالتمسوها لقياس أصول نحوهم... فجاء نحوهم دقيقا ومانعا وجامعا كأصول الفقه. تناول ذلك النحاة الأوائل وألفوا في هذا العلم، فمنذ سيبويه وأستاذه الخليل حتى ابن السراج الذي يعتبر المقدمة المباشرة لهذا العلم، ثم توالت التآليف مرورا بابن جني، فمنهم من تأثر بالفقه وأصوله وعلم الكلام. لم يكتب علماء النحو في الإجماع لوحده، ولكنهم كتبوا فيه ضمن أدلة النحو الإجمالية، فهذه محاولة للتعريف بهذا الدليل لوحده، أنتهج الباحث في ذلك المنهج الوصفي التاريخي. فالإجماع حجة عند جميع العرب ومخالفته من باب الشذوذ.
The grammar scholars said that the general syntax evidences are: Listening unanimity and comparison, some of them added: accompanying the situation. The unanimity is the agreement upon something if they agree to it, and it is in terminology: is agreement of grammarians of Al-Bisra and Al-Kofa. The scholars of grammar say that unanimity is an argument. Unanimity is one of Islamic jurisprudence’s sources. The disagreement of the whole Arabs and grammarians is forbidden. The rule and unanimity of grammar scholars, is based on the origins of jurisprudence and its sources are comprehensive, preventive, and solid and the grammarians saw that for their grammar… therefore their grammar comes solid and preventive as the jurisprudences origins… The earlier grammarians considered this and they wrote books starting from sibawah and his teacher alkhalil till ibn jinni some of them were affected by jurisprudence and its sources and theology and some of them tried to refine grammar from jurisprudence and its sources and theology. The grammar scholars didn’t write on unanimity only but they also wrote on unanimity with regard to the whole grammatical evidences and this attempt to define only this evidences and I followed for that the descriptive historical methodology. Unanimity is an argument according to all Arabs and its violation is a way to abnormality
