المستخلص: المكان عنصر له أهميته في التأثر والتأثير فمثلما يؤثر المكان في الشخصية، يتأثر بها. مما يجعله أداة تسهم في كشف دلالات النص، ويمكن أن يعتمدها التأويل، وقد اعتمد البحث رواية بثينة العيسى "عروس المطر" للكشف عن إمكانية الصورة المكانية في تعميق الدلالات والكشف عنها؛ ليتبين أن المكان فيها لم يكن خشبة هامدة تدور فوقها الأحداث بل جزء يتفاعل مع ما حوله فيغير صورته مع كل تغيير، هذا التفاعل يجعله عنصرا يكتنز بالدلالات. كما تبين أن تماهي الراوي مع شخصية البطل يعطى المكان دورا أكبر في الإخفاء والبوح. وإن الصورة الطباعية للمكان تتأثر بنوع المكان وكينونته. واضطلعت اللغة في الرواية بدور في تثبيت الدلالات واستمرارها بالاستعانة بالأسماء والأفعال المضارعة، وكانت الراوية تمسك ريشة تلون لوحات المكان فتعزز دلالات سكتت عنها اللغة. وقد كان التناص وسيلة فاعلة في توسيع دلالات بفتحه على نصوص أخرى. وساعد المكان الواقعي للرواية في معرفة علة هروب البطلة، ثم نكوصها من الحياة في نهاية الرواية، كما مكن من تعليل الرؤية السوداوية للراوية/ البطلة في الرواية؛ فالذكورة علة في المجتمعات الشرقية يقويها الكثير من الذكور وتسندهم بعض النساء. وتحاربها المرأة بمساندة من الرجال.

The spatial element has an effect and being affected in that the place affects the character and being affected by the character. This fact makes it a tool to expose the indications of the text that can be counted on for the purpose of interpretation. The research adopts “The Bride of Rain” by Botheina al Issa to display the spatial image to dig deep into indications. The study finds out that the element of place is not merely a stage on which events occur, but it is also part of them, changing its image in response to the changing conditions. This interaction makes it abundant with indications. The research reveals that since the novelist is in alignment with the major character, this grants the element of place with a higher role such as showing and hiding. The usual image of place, further, is affected by its type and existence. Also, the language has an important contribution to establish and extend some features through using nouns and present verbs. The novelist appears to be having a feather for painting the spatial aspects, and accordingly, this process provides indications that the language does not provide. Intertextuality has also an important effect in expanding those indications that open the space of interpretation. The choice of realistic setting is a means to recognize the reason of the escape of the hero from life at the end. The realistic setting also shows the novelist and the protagonist’s gloomy viewpoint concerning the place inside the novel because males have the control over the spatial conditions with the aid of some women and being confronted by women with the aid of some men.
