|b This article proposes a mapping of multidimensional poverty for the communes of the Oriental region, as a local management tool for the new development model. The ambition is to decipher the determinants of this scourge in the eastern region. Thus and to go beyond the purely monetary measure of poverty, a classification of communes into homogeneous classes with respect to a vast collection of socio-economic variables is proposed. The principal components analysis, the hierarchical classification as well as the discriminant analysis make it possible to draw up the profile of each group of communes and to identify the determinants of poverty in the Oriental region. The results show that the living environment, housing conditions on the one hand and the quality of social services and the level of education on the other hand are the determining factors of multidimensional poverty and the discriminating variables between the communes of the region.
|d Cet article propose une cartographie de la pauvreté multidimensionnelle pour les communes de la région de l’Oriental, comme outil de pilotage local du nouveau modèle de développement. L’ambition est de décrypter les déterminants de ce fléau dans la région de l’oriental. Ainsi et pour surpasser la mesure purement monétaire de la pauvreté, une classification des communes en classes homogènes par rapport à une vaste collection de variables socio-économiques est proposée. L’analyse en composantes principales, la classification hiérarchique ainsi que l’analyse discriminante permettent de dresser le profil de chaque groupe de communes et d’identifier les déterminants de la pauvreté dans la région de l’Oriental. Les résultats montrent que le cadre de vie, les conditions de logement d’une part et la qualité des services sociaux et le niveau de l’éducation d’autre part sont les facteurs déterminants de la pauvreté multidimensionnelle et les variables discriminants entre les communes de la région.
