المستخلص: الهوية أنواع وتفريعات مختلفة ترتبط لتوجد مسمى الهوية الوطنية، التي تذوب عندها الهوية الفردية داخل الجماعة التي ينتمي إليها. وهي هوية الانتماء والتجنس، وتتصل الهوية الوطنية لقوم وجماعة بخصائص انتظامهم في رقعة جغرافية وزمانية، وأضحت بينهم قواسم مشتركة عديدة في نمط الحياة الاجتماعية والسلوكية والتاريخية والدينية والاقتصادية والثقافية والموسيقية. يتناول البحث قضية إدراك الهوية من منظور ثقافي للأمة السودانية وما يمكن أن يتعلق بفنون الأداء الموسيقية ومدى ملاءمة قدرتها على إبراز هويتها الثقافية. وعكس وجوه التداخل العرقي والاثني واللغوي والطقوسي والعقائدي بين قوميات السودان العديدة، وإلى أي حد تستطيع خلق أرضية قومية سودانية تجتمع عندها كل القوميات. ولتحقيق موضوع البحث هذا، يتعامل مع التقسيمات التاريخية والجغرافية لسكان السودان لتسهل معها عمليات تصنيف فنون الأداء الموسيقية وأهم الأشكال الفنية لكل قسم، ومدى قدرة إيضاحها لمسائل الهوية الثقافية، سواء من خلال الألحان أو الغناء والآلات الموسيقية السودانية التراثية والشعبية، بجانب مكملات العرض الموسيقي من كلمات الغناء والأزياء والرقص والأوقات والمناسبات العامة والخاصة في حالتي الأفراح والأتراح، والمناسبات القومية والرسمية الكبيرة، وبعضا من أنماط الموسيقى والغناء الأخرى مثل الديني والعسكري والعمل والأطفال وغيرها مما يقتضيه السياق الوصفي للبحث.

Identity is of different types and ramifications all tied/ connected under the name/ joint banner of national identity, which then melts individual identity within/ into the group to which one belongs. It is the identity of belonging and naturalization/ pertinence and thus relates to the national identity of the people and the characteristics of the group in relation to the temporal and geographical area that manifests the common denominators of the social, behavioral, historical, religious, economic, cultural, artistic and musical lifestyle. This paper explores the issue of the perceptions of identity from a cultural perspective of the Sudanese nation, particularly what's related to the art of musical performance and the appropriateness of its capacity and capability to highlight their cultural identity. In order to reflect the multifaceted aspects of the racial, ethnic, linguistic, religious, and dogmatic issues shared among Sudan's multiple nationalities, and to see to what extent cans the creation of a common national ground helps to bring together Sudanese of all ethnicities. To achieve the objectives of this research, the study deals with the historical and geographical divisions of the Sudan's population to facilitate the classification of musical performing arts, the most important art forms for each department, and the extent of its ability to clarify the stated issues of cultural identity. Whether through melodies or singing/performance, and local popular and heritage Sudanese musical instruments, along with musical supplements such as lyrics , costumes , dances and the timings of various public and private events, in case of festive or unfavorable, national events, big official events. In addition to some other styles of musical and vocal performance, such as religious, military, work, filial, and other styles required by the descriptive context of the research.
