تتناول هذه الدراسة سيرة أحمد أمين الموسومة بـــ (حياتي) مسلطة الضوء على الهواجس التي كانت تعتور صاحبها لكتابة سيرته، والتي أعلن عنها صراحة "لعلها تفيد اليوم قارئا، وتعين غدا مؤلفا". ومن ثم فقد التزم بالميثاق السيرذاتي في تصوير الحياة الفكرية والثقافية لجيله، ملتزما الصدق والصراحة في نقل أحداثها المستمدة من الواقع؛ فكانت سيرته بحق ثبتا تاريخيا تظهر صاحبها مؤرخا أكثر منه أدبيا. وبالرغم من تعدد المداخل لدراسة سيرة أحمد أمين فقد ارتأى الباحث أن يسلط الضوء على الجانب الثقافي؛ ذلك لأنه قضى جل حياته في التعليم: طالبا ومعلما ومؤلفا ومحققا وناقدا. وقد عكست تلك المسيرة العلمية صراعا حادا بين ثقافتين ساهمتا في تشكيل شخصيته، الأولى: تقليدية، والثانية: عصرية، ويبدو ذلك الصرع جليا من خلال وصفه لأنماط التعليم التي كانت سائدة في عصره، إضافة إلى اتصاله بالآخر من خلال رحلاته العلمية وتعلمه للغات الأجنبية، ونراه ينتصر إلى الثقافة التي تحاكي روح العصر، ولكنه في الوقت نفسه لا يتنصل من الموروث، فيقيم معه صلة تخدم علوم العصر الحديثة، وتبني على القديم؛ لتؤسس علوما جديدة. This study attempts to shed light on Ahmed Amin’s autobiography entitled "My life". It is a study that aims at highlighting the obsessions that pushed its author to write it. One of those obsessions that the author himself explicitly announced is that this autobiography "could benefit a reader today, and it could service a writer tomorrow". Indeed, the author adhered with the autobiographical pact in depicting the intellectual and cultural life of his generation using transparency, fidelity, and sincerity as tools to convey events of the real world, which made his autobiography be considered as a historical proof that shows him a historian more than a literary writer. In fact, although Ahmed Amin’s autobiography could be studied from different perspectives, this study aims to throw the light on cultural aspects simply because its author spent most of his life in the education domain, first as a student, a teacher, an author, an investigator, and, then, a critic. This professional career reflects an intense conflict between two different cultures that contribute to form his personality, namely traditional and modernity. This conflict is evident through his description of different Learning patterns that prevailed in his time, his contact with new cultures, and his learning of foreign languages abroad. All these factors assist him in building a personality that attempted to imitate the spirit of modernity and, at the same time, adhere to traditions and heritage. In so doing, he succeeded in creating a link that serves to build old sciences on modern ones resulting in the establishment of new sciences. |
