المستخلص: تقترب هذه الدراسة من فضاء رواية" باب الشمس" للكاتب اللبناني إلياس خوري، إذ تركز على البعد التاريخي إلى جانب البعد الفني، وقدرة الكاتب على مزج هذين البعدين من أجل أن يقدم لنا عملا فنياً يسرد فيه مرحلة هامة من مراحل القضية الفلسطينية، دون أن يتغاضى عن الجانب النقدي في مسيرة هذه الثورة، فقد دقق طويلا وباح بما لم يستطع أحد أن يبوح به. وقفت الدراسة عند الحكايات التي استثمرها الكاتب وحولها "تقنية فنيه"، وجعلنا نعيش المأساة كما عاشها أبطالها في اللحظة التي ولدت فيها الأحداث. توقفت الدراسة عند مفاهيم التاريخ المختلفة، وانتهت إلى أن ثمة وعياً فردياً بما كان يدور من وقائع وأحداث تاريخية عبر أن حالة الضعف العربي حالت دون تغيير شيء، فلاذ العربي بالحكاية يحقق فيه ما عجز عن تحقيقه في الواقع. وانتهت الدراسة الى أن التاريخ الذي عرضته الشخصيات هو تاريخ الضحية، فكان من الطبيعي أن تكون علاقتها بالتاريخ عدائية وأن تكون صورته في أذهانها قاتمة، غير أنه رغم المعاناة فقد لاحظنا ارتباط الشخصيات بالوطن المحتل والسعي لبناء عالم جديد / عالم باب الشمس، في الأرض المحتلة. كما تبين أن الرواية مؤهلة لأن تكون من وسائل الحوار والاقناع والعبور الثقافي نحو الآخر، وأن الشخصيات كانت تعي ما يدور حولها من أحداث حطيرة كان لها تأثيرها في رسم التاريخ العربي المعاصر.

This study tackles the theme of Bab AL-Shams novel by the Lebanese writer Ilyas Khori. It stresses on both the historical as well as the technical dimensions. Further, it demonstrates the author’s artistic skill of incorporating these two dimensions in the hope of coming up with an artistic (picturesque) work of art, thus enabling him to narrate a critical stage of the Palestinian issue. The author spared no effort in illustrating some criticism in the course of this revolution, tha: is, he contemplated and meditated for long. Also, he unlike others, versed freely and critically. Additionally, this study discusses and explores techniques which are geniusly transferred into an artistic and picturesque mechanisms, thus enabling us to witness the real tragedy as if we are living in it, from the very beginning of the events. Also, the study tackles some different historica concepts, thus concluding that there was a sort of individual awareness that used to encompass certain historical events. Results were always unpleasant due to the state of Arab weakness at that time; the Arab writers restored to tales trying to achieve and fulfill their lifelong ambitions which were difficult to achieve in reality. The study concludes that the history which was portrayed by the characters was the history o' the victim. So, expectedly, it should have an aggressive relationship with history and have a dart; image in mind. But regardless the anguish and torment then, we noticed some characters’ loyalty allegiance and relatedness to homeland, trying to prepare and create a new world like that of the world of Bab AL-Shams in the occupied land, so as to overcome life deficiencies and troubles Also, it appears that this novel is much qualified to be a good means of dialogue, persuasion and i cross-cultural exchange with” the other". Finally, characters are aware of the surrounding threats and hazards, thus having a strong ane positive impact on drawing up lines of the contemporary Arab history.
