|a يعد المكان مجالا من أوسع مجالات الإبداع التي تضفي على الخطاب الروائي الراهن رافدا من روافد الثراء والجمال وتحدد هويته التاريخية والحضارية والثقافية نظرا لما يحيل عليه هذا المكان من تجارب وخبرات وذاكرة، توسع آفاق الرواية الفنية وتنوع مجالات العمل الروائي وتخصبه. كما أن للمكان حضور فاعل في حياة كل منا فهو الذي يثير فينا من دون سواه إحساسا بالمواطنة والانتماء، فالإنسان لا يحتاج فقط إلى مساحة جغرافية يعيش فيها، ولكنه يصبو إلى موطن ليضرب فيه بجذوره ويشعر فيه بالحرية والسيادة والتمييز، وبذلك تتأصل هويته ومن هنا تتضح أهمية المكان في الرواية ودوره في التعبير عن الهوية النفسية والاجتماعية والتاريخية والحضارية للشخصيات."
