المستخلص: تعد تقنية إنترنت الأشياء بمثابة ثورة المعلومات الرابعة بعد، الحاسب، والإنترنت، وشبكات اتصال الهواتف المتنقلة. وتستمد المكتبة- كمركز لتطبيقات صناعة المعلومات- من المتغيرات التي تطرأ على تقنيات المعلومات، حيث يتوقع الكثيرون أن تعجل تقنية إنترنت الأشياء بتحول المكتبة الرقمية Digital Library إلى المكتبة الذكية Smart Library لقدرتها الفائقة على تقديم مزيد من الخدمات الذكية. ويسعى هذا المقال إلى مناقشة احتمالات استخدام تقنية إنترنت الأشياء في الأنشطة المكتبية. والهدف هو تحديد المجال والأشكال الممكنة لاستخدام هذه التقنية في خدمات المكتبات العامة والجامعية. وقد فرضت طبيعة الموضوع استخدام المنهج الوصفي مع التركيز على آليات تحليل المحتوى في استقراء الإنتاج الفكري المتخصص. وتنطوي الورقة على ثلاثة أقسام: تحديد احتمالات استخدام إنترنت الأشياء لتحسين خدمات المكتبات، ووصف بعض النماذج التطبيقية لاستخدام إنترنت الأشياء في المكتبات، ووضع تصور لآفاق استخدام إنترنت الأشياء في المكتبات. وقد خلص المقال إلى أنه على الرغم من المبادرات العديدة الطموحة التي تسعى للإفادة من هذه التقنية الناشئة في مجالات الحياة المختلفة مثل: مجال الاقتصاد والمال والأعمال، والعلم، والترفيه، لا تزال إنترنت الأشياء في المكتبات مجرد مفهوم أو فكرة أكثر منها واقع ملموس، فلا يزال يوجد استشراف لما سيحدث في المستقبل، ويتضح من الإنتاج الفكري المتخصص، والمدونات الإلكترونية، والمناقشات العامة الاعتقاد بسرعة وحتمية تطور تقنيات إنترنت الأشياء، وطبقا لما يذهب به بعض المؤلفين فإن إنترنت الأشياء قد تحدث الطفرة المرتقبة وغير المسبوقة في قطاع الاتصالات والمعلومات.

Internet of things (IOT) technology is the fourth revolution of information following the ones in computers, the Internet, and mobile networks. As a center for information technology applications, the library draws on information technology changes, as many expect the Internet of things (IOT) to accelerate the transformation of the digital library into a smart library for its ability to deliver services that are more intelligent. This article aims to discuss the possibilities of using the IOT technology in library activities. The main objective is to identify the possible scope and forms of use of this technology in public and university library services. The following study uses the descriptive approach with a focus on the mechanisms of content analysis in the extrapolation of specialized intellectual production. The paper consists of three sections: The first section determines the possibilities of using the Internet of Things to improve library services. The second section describes some of the existing models of IOT use in libraries; and last section depicts the possibilities of using the Internet of Things in libraries. Results show that despite the many ambitious initiatives that seek to benefit from this emerging technology in various areas of life such as economics, finance, business, science and entertainment, the IOT is still a concept or an idea rather than a reality. There is an outlook for what will happen in the future, and it is clear - from the existing literature, blogs and public debates, that there is an inevitable development of the IOT. According to some authors, the internet of things may result in an unexpected and unprecedented boom in the telecommunications sector.

La technologie Internet des Objets (IOT) est considérée comme la quatrième révolution de l'information, de l'ordinateur, de l'Internet et des téléphones mobiles. En tant que centre d'applications des technologies de l'information et de la communication, la bibliothèque s'appuie sur les changements de ces TIC. En effet, nombreux sont les usagers qui attendent que IOT accélère la transformation de la bibliothèque numérique en une bibliothèque intelligente avec la capacité de fournir davantage de services intelligents. Cet article discute des possibilités d'utilisation de la technologie IOT dans les activités bibliothéconomiques. Son principal objectif est d'identifier la portée et les modes d'utilisations possibles de cette technologie dans les services des bibliothèques publiques et universitaires. La nature du sujet a imposé l'approche descriptive en mettant l'accent sur les mécanismes de l'analyse du contenu dans l'induction de la production intellectuelle spécialisée. L’article comporte trois sections: la détermination des possibilités d'utilisation de l’IOT pour améliorer les services de bibliothèque, la description de quelques modèles existants dans le cadre de l'utilisation de l’IOT dans les bibliothèques, la présentation des perspectives d'utilisation de l’IOT dans les bibliothèques. Les résultats ont conclu que, malgré les nombreuses initiatives ambitieuses qui cherchent à bénéficier de cette technologie émergente dans divers domaines, tels que l'économie, les finances, les entreprises, la science et le divertissement, l'IOT est encore un concept ou une idée plutôt qu'une réalité concrète. Il existe des recherches prospectives sur ce que sera l'avenir, et il apparait, selon la littérature spécialisée, les blogs et les débats publics que le développement de l'IOT sera rapide et inéluctable. Certains auteur préconisent que l’IOT sera un boom inattendu et sans précédent dans le secteur des TIC.
