المستخلص: تناول البحث الحالي دراسة تمثلات الإعداد في الرسم العالمي ولكون هذه الظاهرة بوصفها مفهوما معرفيا قائما على إظهار سمات العدد بصور جلية في المنجز الأمريكي في تلك الفترة، فقد شغلت مساحة واسعة من مجمل العروض الرسومية المقدمة مما حدي الباحثان إلى دراستها بغية الوصول إلى معرفة الدافع الذي يدعو الفنان إليها ضمن البحث الذي احتوت هيكليته على أربعة فصول: -الفصل الأول: الإطار المنهجي: وقد اشتمل التعريف بمشكلة البحث والحاجة إليه وكذلك أهميته أما هدف الدراسة فيكمن في: كشف تمثلات الأعداد وآليات اشتغالها في الرسم الأمريكي. واشتمل هذا الفصل على حدود البحث ومنهجه وعلى تحديد المصطلحات التي اختارها الباحثان والتحريف الإجرائي لها من قبلهما. -الفصل الثاني: والذي أحتوى على مبحثين، ضم المبحث الأول دراسة (الجذر: الجذر المعرفي لمفهوم العدد) فيما درس في المبحث الثاني بدراسة تمثلات الأعداد في الفن التشكيلي. -الفصل الثالث: كرسه الباحثان لإجراءات البحث التي اشتملت، مجتمع البحث ثم القيام بتحليل عينات البحث والمتكونة من أربع عينات اختيرت اختيار قصديا وللفترات التاريخية المحددة في حدود البحث. -الفصل الرابع: تضمن عرضا للنتائج ومن جملة النتائج التي توصل إليها الباحثان هي: ١. المزاوجة الحرفية العددية والذي أصبح أسلوبا في الفن هو ليس وليد لحظة أنية، وإنما هو نتيجة لإبراز العناصر الواقعية الميالة إلى الإبداع كون ذلك يتماشى مع مبدأ الفكرة المجردة عند الفنان الأمريكي كما في العينة (٣-5). ٢ . هيمنت الرموز الرياضية والهندسية بأسلوب واضح المعالم وباستخدام تقنية المتضادات بكل أشكالها وهي ما تسمى بالاستعارة الرياضية المطلقة للرموز وتوظيفها داخل النص توظيفا جماليا كما في العينة (١، ٢، ٤). أما أهم الاستنتاجات التي توصل إليها الباحثان: ١. تكشف دراسة النص البصري اهتمام الفنان الأمريكي باشراك المتلقي في عملية قراءة الخطاب الفني كونه عنصرا فعالا في عملية الإنتاج. 2. تميز تمثلات العدد في الرسم الأمريكي بارتباطه بفكر المتلقي وما يمتلكه من مرجعية ثقافية وهو يتبان من متلق إلى آخر، لذا فإن انتهاج الموضوعية فضلا عن ذاتية المتلقي محاولة للتوصل إلى الأطر المفهومية على مستوى البنية الداخلية أو الخارجية للعمل الفني. وكذلك التوصيات والمقترحات. واختتمت الدراسة بقائمة المصادر والمراجع.
