المستخلص: This research aims de make a brief incursion through the world of work in Algeria in order to do a little inventory of the situation of work and workers across the two sectors of activity, the public and the private. In order to do this, we carried out a survey based on a sample of 181 workers divided between several compagnies in the two sectors of activity. And at the end of this survey, we found that algerian workers today do not have enough choice in terms of work and that the public sector is still the most coveted sector of work compared to the private sector. In addition, the motivations of workers in the choice of sector of activity and work depend on one category of worker to another due to the evolution of the socio-economic situation in Algeria

L’objectif de cet article est de faire une petite incursion dans le monde du travail en Algérie en vue de faire un bref état des lieux de la situation du travail et des travailleurs à travers les deux secteurs d’activité le public et le privé. Pour ce faire, nous avons réalisé une enquête sur la base d’un questionnaire sur un échantillon composé de 181travailleurs répartis entre plusieurs entreprises relevant des deux secteurs d’activité. Et au terme de cette enquête, nous avons constaté que les travailleurs algériens d’aujourd’hui n’ont pas suffisamment de choix en matière de travail et que le secteur public reste encore le secteur de travail le plus convoité par rapport au secteur privé. En outre, les motivations des travailleurs dans le choix de secteur d’activité et du travail dépendent d’une catégorie de travailleurs à l’autre en raison de l’évolution de la situation socio-économique de l’Algérie.
