المستخلص: The evolution of the means of communication is today an irreversible dynamic. That of the mobile phone has been made at such a speed that it has penetrated all layers of Mauritanian society and has established itself as the most used means. It seems that the rate of its penetration in Mauritania is one of the highest even if it is a poor country; the family and the school being the first most obvious instances of socialization but that of the Internet and the mobile phone remains latent and less controlled affecting both young people and all social strata even the most demined. The mobile phone is a source of knowledge, communication but also of deviance and transgression of values and social norms that can even go as far as the desocialization of young people. It is a real latent socialization by its dissimile and uncontrolled product but also an opening to the world allowing a change of mentalities because it is true, we do not train the individual for his environment only but for other environments. In this regard, Bernard Lahire defines socialization as "the set of ways of being together and being in the world". Thus, the purpose of this article is to make a modest contribution, which has the merit, to raise the question of the effects of the mobile phone, and thus open the debate on the most varied aspects of its use in Mauritania.

L’évolution des moyens de communication est aujourd’hui une dynamique irréversible. Celle du téléphone portable s’est faite à une vitesse telle qu’il a pénétré toutes les couches de la société mauritanienne et s’est imposé comme le moyen le plus utilisé. Il semble que le taux de sa pénétration en Mauritanie est l’un des plus importants même s’il s’agit d’un pays pauvre ; la famille et l’école étant les premières instances de socialisation les plus manifestes mais celle de l’internet et du téléphone portable reste latente et moins contrôlée touchant aussi bien les jeunes que toutes couches sociales même les plus déminues. Le téléphone portable est source de savoir, de communication mais aussi de déviance et de transgression des valeurs et normes sociales pouvant même aller jusqu’à la désocialisation des jeunes. Il s’agit d’une véritable socialisation latente par son produit dissimilé et non contrôlé mais aussi une ouverture sur le monde permettant un changement de mentalités car il est vrai, on ne forme pas l’individu pour son milieu seulement mais pour d’autres milieux. A ce sujet, Bernard Lahire définit la socialisation comme « l’ensemble des manières d’être ensemble et d’être au monde ». Ainsi, l’objet de cet article est d’apporter une contribution modeste qu’elle soit mais qui a le mérite, de soulever par là même la question des effets du téléphone portable, et ouvrir donc le débat sur les aspects les plus variés de son utilisation en Mauritanie.
