تهدف هذه الدراسة لتوضيح إٍسهامات البروفسير صبري فارس الهيتي في مجال التنمية المستدامة، والمتتبع لمسيرته يجد أنها احتوت الكثير من الدراسات والبحوث في مجال التنمية المستدامة ليس على مستوى وطنه العراق بل على مستوى الدول العربية. تنبع أهمية الدراسة من كونها تسلط الضوء على شخصية عراقية اسهمت في مجال دراسات التنمية المستدامة بقدر واف من العمل والجهد العلمي الرصين والذي رفد المكتبات العراقية والعربية. ازداد الاهتمام بمفهوم " التنمية المستدامة" في الدراسات والممارسات، منذ اشتداد المشكلات البيئية وزيادة الوعي بمخاطرها في السبعينيات، والتي وجدت انعكاساتها في أحد المؤتمرات البيئية الكبرى في "ستوكهولم" عام 1972. وبدأت المفاوضات الحكومية الدولية بشأن المشاركة في جدول أعمال تنمية ما بعد 2015 في يناير كانون الثاني عام 2015 وانتهت في أغسطس عام 2015. وبعد المفاوضات تم اعتماد الوثيقة النهائية للتنمية المستدامة في 25- 27 سبتمبر 2015 في نيويورك. وقد اهتم البروفيسور الدكتور صبري بالتنمية المستدامة في الوطن العربي ولذا ساهم بنشر اربعة كتب واربعة عشر بحثا علميا. اهتمت هذه الكتب والبحوث في مجالات متعددة منها، تنمية الصحاري العربية، وكيفية الاستفادة من المراعي، وتنمية الموارد الطبيعية لتحقيق امن غذائي عربي، وكيفية مكافحة التصحر، وتثبيت الكثبان الرملية، وتنمية الموارد المائية، وتنمية الموارد النفطية، وتأثير العولمة على اختلال التنمية العربية.
This study aims to clarify the contributions of Professor / Sabri Faris Al-Hiti in the field of sustainable development. The follower of Professor Al-Hiti’s path finds that it contained many studies and research in the field of sustainable development, not only at the level of his homeland, Iraq, but also at the level of the Arab countries. The importance of the study stems from the fact that it sheds light on an Iraqi personality who contributed to the field of sustainable development with an adequate amount of sober scientific work and effort, which provided the Iraqi and Arab libraries with it. Interest in the concept of “sustainable development” has increased in studies and practices since the intensification of environmental problems and the rising awareness of their dangers in the seventies, which found its reflections in one of the major environmental conferences in Stockholm in 1972. Intergovernmental negotiations on participation in the post-2015 development agenda began in January 2015 and ended in August 2015. After the negotiations, the Final Document on Sustainable Development was adopted on 25- 27 September 2015 in New York. Prof. Dr. Sabri was interested in sustainable development in the Arab world and therefore contributed to the publication of four books and fourteen scientific research. These books and researches focused on various fields, including the development of Arab deserts, how to benefit from pastures, the development of natural resources to achieve Arab food security, how to combat desertification, stabilization of sand dunes, development of water resources, development of oil resources, and the impact of globalization on the disruption of Arab development.
