المستخلص: هدف البحث إلى تعرف ماهية الألعاب الشعبية وصفتها وطرق ممارستها، وأثر ممارسة الألعاب الشعبية اجتماعيا، والتعرف على أسباب الاهتمام باللعب الشعبي، وخصائص الألعاب الشعبية، وشروط ممارسة الألعاب الشعبية، وعلى أهمية الألعاب الشعبية في المجتمع السعودي، وطرح بعض التوصيات التي تفيد موضوع البحث. وتم الاعتماد في منهج البحث التي تتمثل في "الألعاب الشعبية وأثرها الاجتماعي على النشء" على الدراسات المتوفرة والأبحاث والدوريات والمقالات المتخصصة وعلى الكتب الموجودة باللغة العربية، وذلك لتكوين إطار نظري للدراسة تم الانطلاق منه للتوصل إلى المفاهيم المتعلقة بالموضوع. واشتمل البحث على فصلين، الفصل الأول: مدخل الدراسة وقد اشتمل على: (مقدمة البحث -مشكلة البحث -الأهمية -الأهداف -التساؤلات -المنهجية -أدوات البحث)، الفصل الثاني: الإطار النظري والدراسات السابقة وقد اشتمل على: (الإطار النظري-الدراسات السابقة والتعقيب عليها -الخاتمة وفيها النتائج والتوصيات). وتمثلت نتائج البحث في أن الألعاب الشعبية وسيطا يعمل بدرجة كبيرة على تشكيل شخصية الطفل بأبعادها المختلفة، ويرجع الاهتمام بالألعاب الشعبية لأسباب منها الحفاظ على تراث الأمة والإسهام في النمو الاجتماعي والانفعالي والجسمي والعقلي للطفل، وأنها تتضمن العديد من المفردات التي تؤثر في التشكيل الثقافي والبيئي للناشئة. وأوصى البحث بضرورة المحافظة على تراثنا من الألعاب الشعبية وتطويره لكي يتناسب مع عصرنا الحالي، وإدراج الألعاب الشعبية ضمن الأنشطة الترويحية في رياض الأطفال والمدارس، وتخصيص مواقع على الإنترنت للتعريف بالألعاب الشعبية، وكيفية ممارستها وتطويرها لكي تتماشي مع العصر الحالي.

The current research aimed to know what folk games are, their description and methods of practicing them, and the social effect of practicing folk games. It also aimed to identify the reasons why many people interest in folk games, the characteristics of folk games and the perquisites for practicing folk games. Finally, it aimed to shed light the importance of folk games in Saudi society. The research provide some recommendations benefit the subject of the research. The research entitled "Folk games and their social effect on the young", was based on the available studies, research, periodicals, specialized articles, and on books in the Arabic language, in order to form a theoretical framework for the study that discusses the concepts related to the topic. The research included two chapters, the first chapter: An introduction to the study and it included: (Introduction to the research - the research problem - importance - objectives - questions - methodology - research tools), the second chapter: the theoretical framework and previous studies and it included: (theoretical framework - previous studies - conclusion, which contains findings and recommendations). Findings revealed that folk games are a medium that works to a large extent on shaping the personality of the child in its various dimensions. Findings also uncover that the interest in folk games is due to reasons including maintaining the nation’s heritage and contributing to the child's social, emotional, physical and mental development, and that it includes many vocabularies that affects the cultural and environmental formation of the young. The research recommended the necessity of maintaining our heritage of folk games and developing it to suit our current era, including popular games in recreational activities in kindergartens and schools, and allocating websites on the Internet to introduce folk games, and how to practice and develop them in line with the current era.
