المستخلص: "إن الترميز الخرائطي للظواهر الجغرافية من المواضيع التي لقت اهتماما لعديد من الباحثين في تصميم الخرائط ورسمها لما لها. دور كبير في اختزال المعلومات وبلورتها وتمثيلها بأفكار جديدة، وبالنظر إلى عدم وجود دراسة خرائطية عن خصائص سكان محافظة ديالى وتوزيعهم لذلك كان من المتطلبات الضرورية أعداد ورسم مجموعة من الخرائط السكانية التي تتناول توزيع عدد من الظواهر السكانية وفق أسس وقواعد التمثيل الخرائطي بما يتيح دراسة جغرافية تفصيلية لتوضيح المعلومات وإيصالها بشكل دقيق عن الظواهر الجغرافية ومواقعها. ويؤكد موضوع البحث على ضرورة الالتزام بالقواعد الأساسية والأسس الخرائطية لتحقيق رؤيا واضحة للظاهرات الجغرافية على الخرائط السكانية بشكل يعكس توزيعها الحقيقي في الطبيعة مع المحافظة على التوافق والتناسب في الخرائط وهذا لا يمكن الحصول عليه إلا عند تطبيق المعادلات الإحصائية وذلك لمعرفة وتحديد أعلى القيم وأقلها ومن ثم تمثيلها على الخرائط السكانية. إن دراسة الفرضية ومفادها (أنه بالإمكان اختيار الرموز المناسبة في تمثيل الخرائط السكانية وفعاليتها في إيصال الإدراك البصري لقارئ الخريطة باستخدام برامج نظم المعلومات الجغرافية من خلال استخدام القواعد الأساسية لاختيار الرمز الأمثل ليتوافق مع البيانات المراد تمثيلها ومع الهدف من الخريطة، واستخدام نتائج التحليل الخرائطي في إعداد المقترحات التي تساعد في أجراء التعداد السكاني لمحافظة ديالى وتنمية المشاريع وآفاقها المستقبلية ومن أجل التحقق من الفرضية استخدم برنامج ((10.4 ARC GIS في تصميم ورسم مجموعة من الخرائط لبيانات السكان في محافظة ديالى. وإنشاء قاعدة بيانات سكانية لمحافظة ديالى وتصميم الخرائط وفق نتائج مسح خارطة الفقر ووفيات الأمهات لسنة (2013). دراسة إلى مجموعة من الاستنتاجات وعدد من المقترحات ومن أهمها وأبرزها هي أمكانية تصميم خرائط سكانية برموز ذات قدرة توصيلية وإدراكية عالية. كما توصلت الدراسة إلى ضرورة تحديث خرائط التصميم الأساس والخرائط الإدارية للمحافظات كافة ولأصغر وحدة إدارية وذلك من خلال اشتقاقها من أحدث المرئيات الفضائية والأقمار الصناعية العالية الدقة."

"The cartographic coding of geographical phenomena is one of the topics that have attracted the attention of many researchers in designing and drawing maps because of them. Amajor role in reducing information, crystallizing it and representing it with new ideas, and given the lack of a cartographic study of the characteristics of the population of Diyala Governorate and their distribution, so one of the necessary requirements was to prepare and draw a set of population maps that deal with the distribution of a number of population phenomena according to the foundations and rules of cartographic representation, allowing a detailed geographical study To clarify and accurately convey information about geographical phenomena and their locations. The topic of the research stresses the need to adhere to the basic rules and cartographic foundations to achieve a clear vision of geographical phenomena on population maps in a way that reflects their true distribution in nature while maintaining compatibility and proportionality in the maps and this can only be obtained when applying statistical equations in order to know and determine the highest and lowest values and then represent them on population maps. The study of the hypothesis that (it is possible to choose the appropriate symbols in the representation of population maps and their effectiveness in communicating the visual perception of the map reader using GIS programs through the use of basic rules for choosing the optimal symbol to correspond with the data to be represented and with the goal of the map, and using the results of cartographic analysis in preparing Suggestions that help in conducting the population census of Diyala Governorate, developing projects and their future prospects. In order to verify the hypothesis, the program (10.4 ARC GIS) was used to design and draw a set of maps for population data in Diyala Governorate. And the establishment of a population database for Diyala Governorate and the design of maps according to the results of the Poverty and Maternal Mortality Survey for the year (2013). The study also found the need to update the basic design maps and administrative maps for all governorates and for the smallest administrative unit, by deriving them from the latest high-resolution satellite and satellite visuals."
