تعالج هذه الدراسة مسألة حيوية بالنسبة للعلوم الاجتماعية بشكل عام، ولعلم الاجتماع بشكل خاص، تتمثل في أصالة منهجية البحث العلمي الاجتماعي عند ابن خلدون. فتركز على مناقشة الأسس والقواعد المنهجية، والآراء العلمية التي قدمها ابن خلدون وطالب الباحثين الالتزام بها أثناء إنجاز بحوثهم العلمية، كما تعرض آراء عدد من الباحثين الذين أتوا بعد ابن خلدون حول بعض المسائل التي عالجها، ويستخدم الباحث في معالجته للموضوع المنهج الوصفي التحليلي بغية تعرف أوجه الاتفاق والاختلاف بينهم، وذلك انطلاقا من إيمان الباحث أن تغير الظروف المحيطة بالظاهرة قيد الدراسة من فترة زمنية لأخرى ومن مجتمع لآخر، تتطلب من الباحثين ليس الاستفادة مما توصل إليه السابقون فحسب، بل تطويره والإضافة إليه بما يتماشى مع متطلبات الواقع الراهن. فمن الموضوعات التي تناولها الباحث: لمحة عن منهجية البحث عند ابن خلدون، وفهمه للظاهرة الاجتماعية، ووجهة نظره حول علاقة الإنسان بالطبيعة، والموضوعية عنده، ورأيه بالتطور الاجتماعي، وآراؤه التربوية، وفي الخاتمة أشار الباحث إلى بعض الجوانب التي تكمن فيها أصالة منهجية البحث عند ابن خلدون.
This study approaches a vital problem regarding social sciences in general, and sociology in particular, signified in the origin of the scientific social research methodology at Ibn-Khaldun. It focuses on the discussion of the methodological basis and rules, and the scientific thoughts presented by Ibn-Khaldun and demanded the researchers to comply with in achieving their scientific researches. In addition, it depicts the viewpoints of some other researchers who came after Ibn-Khaldun about some of the issues he approached. The Researcher, in his approach, uses the descriptive analytical method to acquaint himself with the coherence and contrast between them, starting from the researcher's belief in the fact that the change in the handled phenomena's surrounding circumstances from a phase to phase and from a society to another, demands researchers not only to make benefit from ex- researchers, but promote it and furnish it with what comes in coherence with the requirements of status quo. Subjects approached by the researcher: Ahint on Research Methodology at Ibn-Khaldun, and his comprehension of social phenomena, and his view point about the relation between man and nature, his objectivity, his opinion in social development, and his educational thoughts. In conclusion, the research pointed out some sides where in the originality of research methodology at Ibn-Khaldun exists.
