تعد الزراعة المحمية شكلا من أشكال التنمية المستدامة طالما توفر زيادة وتحسين في كميات الإنتاج الزراعي النباتي واستحداث مساحات زراعية جديدة كانت أراضي تغمرها الكثبان الرملية ومحاصيل زراعية كالخضروات في فصل الشتاء من خلال التغلب على مظاهر الطقس والتقلبات المناخية المفاجئة اعتمادا على المياه الجوفية في المنطقة بحفر الآبار العميقة، وتناول البحث دور التنمية الزراعية من خلال مفهومها وسبل تحقيق التنمية الزراعية وثم تحديد مفهوم الزراعة المحمية وأشكالها وما هي سبل نجاحها والتعرف إلى أهم الأثار التي تترتب على تطبيق الزراعة المحمية في منطقة الدراسة، تمثلت حدود دراسة البحث في الجزء الشمالي الشرقي من محافظة ميسان ويبين البحث المساحات المشغولة بالزراعة المحمية في منطقة الدراسة بالبيوت البلاستيكية المرتفعة والإنفاق (الشقوق الصغيرة) المغطاة بالمواد البلاستيكية.

The research shows the areas occupied with protected agriculture in the study area with greenhouses and low tunnels.
