المستخلص: This paper studies the postcolonial themes and their implications in Iraqi novels placing the period ‘years’ following the American occupation of Iraq in 2003 under the lenses of investigation. Then, bringing a concise description of the Iraqi novel before the aforementioned period. After having read several texts ‘novels’, there will be an introduction to the narrative by which postcolonial identity of the Iraqi novel has been established. The language of such novels is Arabic in which their mood is highlighted realistically and melancholically. It has been shown that through the analysis of these works how the causes and impacts of have led to the progress within the Iraqi context. Iraqi locals have written the selected novels and they have lived in Iraq and exist within the real implications of daily life. Though they vary in their topics, techniques, and publication dates, they resemble the distinctive features of the Iraqi novel in its modern view.
