المستخلص: يتناول هذا المقال مفهومي الوقاية والمخاطرة في العلوم البيو-طبية والعلوم الاجتماعية، ويحلل منظورات هذه العلوم للمخاطر الصحية والممارسات الوقائية. ويركز بالأساس على المقارنة بين المقاربة الموضوعية والمقاربة البنائية للمخاطرة في العلوم الاجتماعية. ويتخذ من قضية الوقاية من الإيدز مثالا له لتحليل حدود وأهمية هاتين المقاربتين، مع انتصاره للمقاربة السوسيولوجية البنائية نظرا لاستقلاليتها عن الإيديولوجية الوقائية، واستحضارها للسياقات الاجتماعية والثقافية في تحديد معنى المخاطر الصحية والتخطيط للوقاية الملائمة لها.

This article discusses the concepts of risk and prevention in the biomedical and social sciences. It presents the theoretical perspectives of these health risk and prevention sciences. But, it focuses this analysis on the comparison between the "objective" approach and the constructive approach in the social sciences. It is in this sense that he takes HIV/AIDS as an example to examine the contributions and limitations of these two approaches. Finally, it takes a stand for the constructivist sociological approach given its independence from preventive ideology and the fact that it induces socio-cultural contexts in defining the meaning of health risks and in planning a prevention adapted to these risks.

Cet article aborde les concepts de risque et de prévention dans les sciences biomédicales et dans les sciences sociales. Il présente certaines perspectives théoriques des sciences du risque sanitaire et de la prévention. Cependant, Il focalise cette analyse sur la comparaison entre l'approche «objective» et l'approche constructive dans les sciences sociales. C'est dans ce sens qu'il prenne le VIH/Sida comme exemple pour examiner les apports et les limites de ces deux approches. Enfin, il prend position pour l'approche sociologique constructiviste étant donné son indépendance par rapport à l'idéologie préventive et du fait qu'elle induit les contextes socioculturels dans la définition du sens des risques sanitaires et dans la planification d'une prévention adaptée à ces risques.
