المستخلص: الرواية تكشف خبايا المجتمعات، وتستلهم تاريخها الثقافي والاجتماعي، وكاتبها حامل ثقافة المجتمع وقيمه. والشخصية الروائية أحد عناصر البنية السردية التي تقوم عليها الرواية، لذلك فإن للشخصية داخل العمل الروائي دورا مهما لا يتأتى العمل بدونها، وقد اتخذها الروائيون أداة؛ لكشف المسكوت عنه في المجتمع، وطرح ما تعجز الحقيقة عن طرحه من أسئلة تدور حول الثقافة والهوية. وقد حاولت هذه الدراسة تسليط الضوء على بناء الشخصية في "رواية الحمام لا يطير في بريدة" للكاتب (يوسف المحيميد) أحد الروائيين الذين يمتلكون زمام لغة سردية جذابة، وجرأة تكشف خفايا المجتمع، وتبحر في خفاياه. حاولنا أن نتلمس طريقته في بناء الشخصيات ورسمه لملامحها وتكويناتها ومعرفة أنواعها وأنماطها، وأصنافها الرئيسة والثانوية وأبعادها النفسية والاجتماعية والفسيولوجية ودلالتها الفنية، وعلاقة ذلك كله بدورها في حركة سير الأحداث وتطورها وارتباطها بالعناصر الأخرى كالحدث والمكان والزمن وأثر ذلك في السياق السردي.

The novel reveals the mysteries of societies, draws inspiration from their cultural and social history, and its writer is the bearer of the society’s culture and values. The narrative character is one of the elements of the narrative structure upon which the novel is based and without which the narrative work does not exist. Therefore, novelists utilize it as a tool to reveal what is glossed over in the society, and to ask such questions that cannot be asked about culture and identity. This study seeks to shed light on the character building in the novel" Al-Hamam la Yateer fi Buraidah” (Pigeons Do Not Fly in Buraidah) by Yousof Al-Muhaimeed, a novelist who possesses an attractive narrative language and courage that reveals the mysteries and secrets of society. In addition, the study tries to adopt his approach of building the characters, drawing their features, knowing their types and patterns (major and minor), and their psychological, social, and physiological dimensions and their artistic significance. Moreover, the study identifies the relationship of all of this with the character’s role in the development of actions and their connection with other narrative elements such event and setting, and the impact of this on the narrative context.
