المستخلص: War is the ugliest event that anyone may pass through in his / her life. It is the theme that is depicted via many literary texts by many writers. This study hypothesizes that R. C. Sherriff is an antiwar playwright. This is apparent throughout his writings. This study aims at validating the being mentioned hypothesis by following the formalistic approach to analyze the selected text. The discussion for this important theme is to be done in the play, Journey's End. The importance of the paper lies in that it deals with a very vital theme that is the theme of war and anti-war vision. It is worthy to shed light on the negative points that influence and causes damage to the life of people. It starts with a theoretical background that consists of an introduction, the hypothesis, the aim, the significance, methodology, and literature review. The paper presents the concept of war and antiwar theatre, the life and the work of the playwright as well. The selected play, Journey's End' analysis is done then the conclusion sums up the findings of the discussion ends the paper.
