المستخلص: نتفق جميعا على أن ثمة اختلاف كبير بين جمهور مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي وجمهور الأنواع الأخرى من وسائل الاتصال، من حيث آنية تبادل المعلومات والتفاعلية التي تسمح للمستخدمين المشاركة بتبادل الأخبار والمعلومات، إلى جانب المساحة الواسعة من حرية التعبير عن الرأي والرأي الآخر، فضلا عن تعدد خيارات الأفراد، وخاصية المرونة والتحكم بالمادة المرسلة، سرعة تدفق المعلومات، وكثافتها، وسرعة انتشارها، وسهولة استخدامها؛ مما جعل المواقع اليوم تحتل أهمية بالغة لدى الأفراد، إذ نجد أعدادا هائلة من المستخدمين يعتمدون عليها في تبادل الأخبار والآراء والمعلومات، ويزداد هذا الاهتمام والتفاعل، بحيث يصل إلى أقصاه في الأزمات والأحداث المهمة، ومن هنا فقد جاء تفشي مرض كورونا- الذي فاجأ العالم وأحزنه بمئات الآلاف من الضحايا في 202 دولة حول العالم- ليدفع بمواقع التواصل الاجتماعي لتكون على رأس قائمة وسائل الإعلام الجديدة، ومن أكثرها تداولا للمعلومات والوقائع ومجريات الأحداث ومستجداتها، وبكل ما له صلة بتداعيات وباء كوفيد – 19.

The most prominent feature of communication technology, especially social media, is that it attracts many users to connect, interacts with their followers, builds friendships and exchanges various information on these platforms, especially information that the traditional media refrain from broadcasting or publishing for many reasons. Which makes social media an important aspect and a daily necessity of the lives of the users, although there are many criticisms leveled against it, the least of which is accusing it of improvisation and randomness. However, there are urgent needs among many users who are increasingly using social media. Today, social media have become a way of life that works for change, as the COVID-19 pandemic which can be one of the greatest dangers facing humanity in the twenty-first century, prompted millions of people to investigate the latest news and information to find out the secret of this pandemic, which modern science has been unable to decipher with all its advanced capabilities in advanced scientific technologies. And overnight, the flimsiness of the world in which we live was revealed, as well as the weakness of the system of our modern world. therefore, arises the need for social media that is free from restrictions and transcends time and place, so that information is no longer dependent on those who manipulate and monopolize it. This is accompanied by the growing sense that the whole world is living, now, the moment of immersion in this sweeping pandemic. This perception was behind the conduct of this study, to perceive the importance of social media and how to effectively use it in times of crisis.
