المستخلص: The purpose of this article was to try to analyze the problem of measuring intra-branch trade and, more particularly, trade in horizontal and vertical differentiation. We have presented the GHM and FF methods, inspired by the work of Abd-El-Rahman (1986 a, 1986 b, 1987, 1991). The criticism summarized above led us to propose in a third section an alternative method used by Alberto BALBONI (2007), according to this method, the share of trade of a horizontal (vertical) nature in intra-branch trade of a given branch is all the greater (less) the difference between the average quality of the exported products and that of the products exported imported products is low. The application of these methods to trade between Algeria and China assumes an inter-branch trade of a vertical nature.

L’objet de cet article était d’essayer d’analyser la problématique de la mesure du commerce intra- branche et, plus particulièrement, des échanges en différenciation horizontale et verticale. Nous avons présenté les méthodes GHM et FF, s'inspirant des travaux d'Abd-El-Rahman (1986 a, 1986 b, 1987, 1991), La critique synthétisée ci-dessus nous a conduits à proposer dans une troisième section une méthode alternative utilisée par Alberto BAL BONI (2007) , selon cette méthode, la part des échanges de nature horizontale (verticale) dans le commerce intra-branche d'une branche donnée est d'autant plus importante (moins importante) que l'écart entre la qualité moyenne des produits exportés et celle des produits importés est faible. L’application de ces méthodes sur le commerce entre l’Algérie et la Chine assume un commerce inter branche de nature vertical.
