المستخلص: تحتاج البحوث في العلوم الاجتماعية والإنسانية لآليات معينة، لإعداد دراسات أكثر مصداقية وعلمية، لذلك تعتمد على قواعد وطرق المنهج العلمي، والذي ينقسم إلى نوعين هما المناهج الكمية والمناهج الكيفية، حيث تستخدم المناهج الكمية عند هدف قياس الظواهر، وتستخدم المناهج الكيفية عند هدف فهم الظواهر، وبهذا تعتمد البحوث الكمية على بيانات إحصائية يتم فيها اختبار الفرضيات باستخدام إجراءات محددة كإجراءات التصميم التجريبي أو السببي المقارن وغيرها، ومن جهتها تتنوع البحوث الكيفية منها البحوث الأثنوقرافية ودراسة الحالة والبحوث الميدانية وبحوث الملاحظة بالمشاركة. وفي السنوات الأخيرة ساد نقاش علمي واسع بشأن مزايا الجمع بين المناهج الكمية والنوعية في البحوث، وتبين أن استخدام المناهج الكمية إلى جانب المناهج الكيفية وبالتالي استخدام ما يسمى بالمناهج المختلطة يعد من المتطلبات البحثية لإعداد دراسات أكثر مصداقية وعلمية. لذا تهدف هذه الورقة البحثية لمعرفة مبررات استخدام مناهج مختلطة وبالتالي الجمع في دراسة واحدة بين المقاربتين الكمية والكيفية، بالرجوع لأحد الدراسات الأكاديمية.

Research in the social and human sciences needs certain mechanisms to prepare more credible and scientific studies, so it depends on the rules and methods of the scientific method, which is divided into two types: quantitative and qualitative approaches, where quantitative approaches are used when the goal of measuring phenomena, and qualitative approaches are used when the goal of understanding phenomena Thus, quantitative research depends on statistical data in which hypotheses are tested using specific procedures such as experimental design procedures or comparative causation and others, and on its part, qualitative research varies, including ethnographic research, case studies, field research and participatory observation research. In recent years, a wide scientific debate has prevailed on the advantages of combining quantitative and qualitative approaches in research, and it has been found that the use of quantitative methods in addition to qualitative approaches, and thus the use of the so-called mixed curricula, is one of the research requirements for preparing more credible and scientific studies. Therefore, this research paper, with reference to one of the academic studies, tries to answer the following main question: Why does the researcher resort to using mixed methods in his study and then combine in one study the two quantitative and qualitative approaches?
