المستخلص: Like its peers, the Algerian family has undergone major changes in recent decades. In this journey between tradition and modernity, the family has acquired new characteristics, both contemporary and operational, but also against the mother culture, which thus sows great confusion and causes a certain fragility within its own structure but also with regard to its main functions. In this study, and through a socio-anthropological approach, we have tried to understand the ambivalence of Algerians in the face of two present but antagonistic cultures. This is a quantitative study that revealed the main consequences of the phenomenon of acculturation on the family, namely conflicts that mainly affect members of the Algerian family: on the one hand, the intra-personal conflict, which forces each of us to try to find our place between tradition and modernity. On the other hand, the intergenerational and relational conflict that results from differences in values and priorities between parents and children.

A l’instar de ses semblables, la famille algérienne a connu des mutations majeures au cours des dernières décennies. Dans ce parcours entre tradition et modernité, la famille a acquis de nouvelles caractéristiques, à la fois contemporaines et opérationnelles, mais aussi à l’encontre de la culture mère, qui de ce fait sème une grande confusion et provoque une certaine fragilité au sein même de sa propre structure mais aussi en ce qui concerne ses fonctions principales. Dans cette étude, et par le biais d’une approche socio-anthropologique, nous avons tenté de comprendre l’ambivalence des Algériens face à deux cultures présentes mais antagonistes. Il s’agit d’une étude quantitative qui a révélé les principales conséquences relatives au phénomène d'acculturation sur la famille, à savoir les conflits qui touchent principalement les membres de la famille algérienne : d'une part, le conflit intra- personnel, qui contraint chacun de nous à tenter de trouver sa place entre tradition et modernité. D'autre part, le conflit intergénérationnel et relationnel qui résulte des différences de valeurs et de priorité entre parents et enfants.
