موضوع هذا البحث هو "الحرب والبنية الاجتماعية في السودان الغربي 726- 1000ه/ 1325- 1591م" وهو موضوع جدير بالدراسة إذ يناقش آثار الحرب على عناصر مجتمع السودان الغربي في العصر الإسلامي (منطقة غرب أفريقيا حاليا)، من خلال دراسة أثر الحرب على تماسك القبيلة السودانية، ثم أثر الحرب في خلخلة البنية الديموغرافية، وبعدها يتطرق البحث لمعالجة أثر الحرب فيما شهده المجتمع السوداني من حراك طبقي، وذلك بدراسة أثر الحرب في إيجاد بعض الفوارق الطبقية، ثم أثرها في ظهور شريحة أسرى الحرب، وما استتبعه من آثار على صعيد الحراك الطبقي، ثم يتتبع البحث الآثار التي خلفتها الحرب على الأسرة السودانية، من خلال دراسة آثار تواتر أخبار الحرب ومردوده على الأسرة، ثم أثر الحرب على المرأة، والطفل، ثم نرصد بعض المحن والمشكلات التي أصابت المجتمع بسبب الحرب، ومنها محن الحصار العسكري وآثاره على السكان، ومحنة ترويع السكان والتنكيل بهم، ونهب الأموال الذي أعقب بعض الحروب. وبالتالي فإن الحرب ألقت بظلالها على واقع المجتمع السوداني، وتركت آثارا سلبية عميقة رغم ما حققته من مكاسب سياسية واقتصادية.
The topic of this research is "War and the Social Structure in Western Sudan 726- 1000 AH / 1325- 1591 AD", which is a topic worthy of study as it discusses the effects of war on the elements of Western Sudan society in the Islamic era (West Africa region today), by studying the impact of war on the cohesion of the tribe.
