المستخلص: انفتحت السينما على الأدب والفنون لتجذب جماهير جدد وتعزز مكانتها بين الفنون الأخرى، "فخلال الفترة ما بين 1908 وقبيل الحرب العالمية الأولى، سادت أفلام المسرح المصور، التي كانت وسيلة لجذب أوساط الأدباء والطبقة الأرستقراطية للاهتمام بالسينما، وبعد ذلك ظهرت موجة الرواية السينمائية". وخلال بداية العقد الثاني من القرن العشرين، بدأت الأفلام السينمائية تتخلص من بدائيتها، وتتجه إلى إضفاء المزيد من الفن والتقنيات عليها، تقنيات التصوير وتقنيات السرد والكتابة والتوضيب والإخراج، كما ظهرت أجناس فيلمية جديدة، وأطلقت كلمة الوثائقي على أفلام، وكلمة تخييلي على أفلام أخرى، وهناك من قال بوجود "أفلام طليعية أي أفلام تجريبية". وتعتبر الكتابة أسمى وسائل التواصل، وهي وسيلة لتدوين الأفكار وتركيبها وتحليلها وتسجيلها، فالكتابة باعتبارها رسم ومعنى، عملت على تحرير الإنسان من سطوة الذاكرة والتذكر والنسيان، وحولت ما ينطقه إلى رسوم ذات معان متعددة، فهي "نسيان للذات وإحالة على الخارج، ونقيض للذاكرة"، كما أنها مؤشر من مؤشرات عالم الثقافة.

Cinema is one of the important inventions that managed to cut out and preserve a part of public time, which made it a socio-historical document, which the researcher can use like written documents, oral narratives and memory. This has prompted a debate between historians and filmmakers about the adoption of cinema as a historical source for writing history and producing and refining historical knowledge, because history from an epistemological point of view is an epistemological act that provides scientific knowledge, while cinema is an artistic text whose goal is to entertain the recipient. The matter was opposed by some historians, as they considered that cinema is an imaginary act, and that historical cinema does not provide historical knowledge, while others saw that the documentary film can be adopted as a historical source, because it was able to record and preserve part of the time that included events and facts, But it is difficult with regard to the events that occurred before the birth of cinema, and on the other hand, filmmakers consider their films not history, but a novel of history. And that objectivity cannot be achieved even in historical writing, because pictures and scenes cannot make a movie without the intervention of the cinematographer, just as documents and writings cannot make history without the intervention of the historian.
