المستخلص: يسعى البحث إلى إبراز مدى أهمية اللغة العربية في التراث الملايوي القديم، ومن مشكلات البحث أن اللغة العربية لم تجد حظها من الدراسة والبحث في التراث الثقافي الملايوي، كذلك سيجيب البحث عن دور اللغة العربية والثقافة الإسلامية في تكوين المجتمع الملايوي، وعاداته وعقائده الدينية، وكيف أثر التراث الثقافي الإسلامي في تشكيل صفات المجتمع الملايوي ثقافيا واجتماعيا، وأبرز سمات المجتمع الملايوي. وسيتبع البحث المنهج التاريخي والوصفي، والتراث الثقافي الإسلامي أحد مكونات حضارة وثقافة الفرد والمجتمع الملايوي. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى أن من مظاهر تأثر التراث الملايوي، مفردات اللغة العربية التي أصبحت جزءا من اللغة الملايوية حتى يومنا هذا، فقد اقترضت اللغة الملايوية كثيرا من الكلمات والعبارات العربية، فضلا عن العادات والطقوس الإسلامية السائدة في المجتمع الملايوي ويرجع ذلك إلى المد الثقافي الإسلامي في البلاد الملايوية، ولقد عرف الملايو الخط العربي، فكتبوا بالحرف العربي المعروف بالخط (الجاوي) لغتهم، وبعد انتشار الإسلام عكف الملايوين على تعليم وتعلم اللغة العربية والدين الإسلامي، فصارت اللغة العربية جزءا من ثقافة وتراث الفرد والمجتمع الملايوي.

This research aims to show the extent of the importance of Arabic in the old Malay heritage, and prove that Arabic is one of the components of Islamic and Arabic heritage in Malay culture and heritage. The Arabic language does not have a proper place in the study and research of Malay cultural heritage is the problem that the study would try to address. There are several important question that would be addressed including: What was the role of Arabic language and Islamic culture in the formation of the Malay society, customs, religious beliefs, and Islamic transactions and how the impact of the Islamic cultural heritage with various types and forms affects the formation of cultural and social characteristics of Malay society and what are the most prominent characteristics of the Malay community. This research follows historical and descriptive methods in highlighting the manifestations of heritage that come in various types such as customs, people, historical heritage, population heritage, architecture, religious monuments recorded history to the entry of Islam, and characteristics of Islamic civilization spread in the Malay country. Malay society are rich in heritage with various components and types that distinguish it from others in its specificity and cultural and historical manifestations. Islamic cultural heritage is one of the components of Malay civilization and culture. Among the manifestations of the influence of the Arabic language and Islamic culture is the Arabic vocabulary, which has become part of the Malay language today. Untill this day, the Malay language has borrowed many Arabic words and phrases, and many Islamic customs were practiced in the Malay society. This is due to the expansion of Islamic culture in Malay countries. Malays know Arabic calligraphy, so they write Arabic letters known as (Jawi) as their language. After the spread of Islam, Arabic language and Islamic science became of great importance in the Malay countries, and they worked in teaching and learning Arabic and the religion of Islam. Because of that, the Arabic language became part of the culture and heritage of individuals and the Malay community.
