إن العلم بالشريعة المحمدية أشرف الوظائف، حيث يكون بها الإنسان كالمصباح الذي ينير لمن حوله، كما أن العالم العامل بما جاءت به الشريعة الغراء تجده ذا ملكة مصقولة لا تقوم أمامه شبهة ولا منزلق من مزالق الشيطان، أن لعلم الأصول مكانة سامية بين العلوم الشرعية؛ وذلك أن كل الفروع الفقهية تندرج تحته، وما قام علم الأصول عند الأصوليون إلا لفهمهم للفروع وإحاطتهم بمسائله، ثم إدراج تلكم الفروع الفقهية تحت أصل منضبط، وقد انبرى لهذا العلم حملة الشريعة فأتقنوا الصنعة الأصولية ودونوا وقعدوا القواعد فجزاهم الله تعالى خير ما يجزي علماء عن أمتهم؛ ولأهمية الاطلاع على أصول الفقه عن المعتزلة والذين يركزون على القوة العقلية جنبا إلى جنب مع النص؛ رأيت من المناسب أن يكون موضوع بحثي شخصية عملاقة وعقلية باهرة هو القاضي عبد الجبار المعتزلي، فقد جلت جولة بسيطة في آرائه حول السنة النبوية، وقد قمت باختيار أهم المسائل التي خالف بها القاضي أئمة الحنفية، سواء كانوا مجتمعين أم متفرقين، حيث أن القاضي يوسع دائرة الحديث المتواتر باشتراط أن يكون الرواة في كل طبقة من طبقاته من أربعة رواة فما فوق بعد أن يحصلوا على الضبط والعدالة. وقد اقتضت الخطة في بحثي أن تكون كما يأتي: المبحث الأول: ترجمة القاضي عبد الجبار المعتزلي. المبحث الثاني: مدخل إلى دراسة السنة النبوية. المبحث الثالث: المسائل المختلف فيها.
