المستخلص: يسلط هذا البحث الضوء على ثورة 14 تموز 1958 في آراء معاصريها ونقادها، أي من وجهة نظر المشاركين في الأحداث التي أسهموا فيها وعايشوها وكتبوا عنها، وهي محاولة منهم لتسجيل آرائهم وإيضاحاتهم وتفسيراتهم لما حصل، محاولين الكشف عن أسرارها، ولاسيما ما يتعلق ببداية تنظيم الضباط الأحرار، والأسباب التي أدت إلى قيام الثورة، وأهداف التنظيم وأعداد المشاركين فيه، ومحاولة معرفة هل أن السلطة الملكية على علم بالثورة؟ وهل هناك تدخل من قوى خارجية مثل بريطانيا والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية؟ ‎ثم يحاول هذا البحث معرفة ما إذ كان للجيش وأعضاء التنظيم دور في مقتل العائلة المالكة، وقد تبين من خلال الدراسة أن هناك تأثير للانتماءات التي أختص بها العسكريون والسياسيون، وظهرت بشكل واضح في مذكراتهم ما جعلها (نوعا ما) لا تبدو موضوعية.

This research casts light on the revolution of July 14, 1958 in the opinions of its contemporaries and critics, that is, from the point of view of the participants in the events in which they contributed, lived and wrote about it. It is an attempt by them to record their opinions, clarifications and interpretations of what happened, trying to reveal its secrets, especially with regard to the beginning of the Free Officers’ organization, the reasons that led to the revolution, the goals of the organization and the number of participants in it, and an attempt to find out whether the royal authority is aware of the revolution and whether there is any interference from external powers such as Britain and the United States of America? Then, this research attempts to find out if the army and members of the organization had a role in the killing of the royal family, and it was found through the results that there is an effect of the affiliations that belonged to the military and politicians and it clearly appeared in their memoirs, which made it somewhat not seem objective.
