المستخلص: This research aims to highlight the importance of cultural heritage sites in the Algerian territories, and the requirements for their rehabilitation and development, in order to improve their tourist attractiveness, and revitalize the tourism sector in Algeria. In many countries, cultural heritage sites have become an important factor of tourist attraction, when they are rehabilitated and developed as part of an integrated tourism development strategy. The study concluded that Algeria has many cultural heritage sites, and that only a few of them are inscribed on the World Cultural Heritage List. Nevertheless, these sites are not exploited in the revitalization of the tourism sector, due to several factors, which have negatively affected the attractiveness of Algeria as a global tourist destination.
