كان أحد أهم المسائل التي شغلت كبار أحبار اليهود في العصر الحديث مسألة وضع الفلسطينيين الذين يعيشون داخل الكيان الصهيوني المحتل للأراضي الفلسطينية. فقد تطرق العديد من أحبار اليهود إلى هذه المسألة التي لم تسقط من جدول الأعمال الحاخامي حتى يومنا هذا. وأصدر أحبار اليهود جيل إقامة الكيان الصهيوني فتاوى تسمح بمنح العرب الفلسطينيين حقوقا مدنية تسمح لهم بالإقامة وسط اليهود، كمرحلة مبدئية لتوطيد أركان الكيان الصهيوني حديث النشء وقتئذ. وظل الوضع هكذا حتى جاءت حرب يونيو 1967م، وأسفرت عن انتصار الكيان الصهيوني على العرب والفلسطينيين، الذي كان له أثر بالغ على المجتمع الصهيوني الديني والعلماني على حد سواء، وأدت إلى تعزيز أحبار اليهود في التحدث باسم جمهور اليهود عامة وإدارة الأمور داخل الكيان الصهيوني، وصاحب ذلك تغير في التعامل مع مسألة وضع الفلسطينيين الذين يعيشون وسط اليهود، واتخذ أحبار اليهود خطا شرعيا يمنع منح العرب الفلسطينيين أية حقوق إلا بشروط محددة. يهدف هذا التغيير في الخطاب الديني إلى تبرير الأيديولوجية السياسية للصهيونية الدينية المتطرفة، التي تسعى إلى تطبيق السيادة الصهيونية على جميع المناطق المحتلة خلال حرب يونيو 1967م دون إعطاء السكان الفلسطينيين حقوقا مدنية كاملة.
One of the most important issues that preoccupied the senior Jewish rabbis in the modern era was the issue of the situation of the Palestinians living within the Zionist entity that occupies the Palestinian territories. Many Jewish rabbis have touched upon this issue, which has not fallen off the rabbinic agenda to this day. The Jewish rabbis of the generation of the establishment of the Zionist entity issued fatwas allowing the Palestinian Arabs to be granted civil rights that would allow them to reside among the Jews, as an initial stage for consolidating the pillars of the newly emerging Zionist entity at the time. The situation remained like this until the war of June 1967 AD, which resulted in the victory of the Zionist entity over the Arabs and the Palestinians, which had a profound impact on the religious and secular Zionist community alike, and led to the strengthening of the Jewish rabbis in speaking on behalf of the Jewish public in general and managing matters within the Zionist entity. This was accompanied by a change in dealing with the issue of the situation of the Palestinians living among the Jews, and the Jewish rabbis took a legitimate line that prevented granting Palestinian Arabs any rights except with specific conditions. This change in religious discourse aims to justify the political ideology of extremist religious Zionism, which seeks to apply Zionist sovereignty over all occupied territories during the June 1967 war without giving the Palestinian population full civil rights.
