|a يتكون الإيقاع من الكم الزمني فاستطعنا أن نحسب زمن التفعيلات، ومن النبر ويتحدد بواسطة مقاييس بسيطة أو مركبة، فتمكنا من تحديد مواقعه بدقة، لذلك قمنا برقمنة الكم الزمني والنبر. يعد التناظر بين الشطرتين أو البيتين من خصائص الشعر العربي ومن أركان اللحن. هناك فرق بين الوزن العروضي والموسيقي هو: استبدال المقطع القصير بالمقطع الطويل يؤدي إلى خلل في الوزن الخليلي، لكنه لا يؤثر في الموسيقا. نظمت قصيدة نزار من البحر الكامل، وتفعيلته: (متفاعلن) تواترت ثلاث عشرة ومائة مرة. أصابها الزحاف والعلة، استطاع الوزن الموسيقي تقديم حل لاختلاف القافية عجز عنه العروض، وهي التعادل الكمي: بما أن الأبيات بدأت بزمن كامل، فسوف تنتهي القافية بزمن أقل وكانت مكونة من بعض كلمة، ورويها (الميم).
