المستخلص: In this contribution, which is part of a work within the framework of a doctoral thesis in language sciences, we are interested in one of the ubiquitous argumentative strategies in the editorial. The latter, as an opinion piece from the « implication-commentary » pole, is the ideal place where the enunciator/journalist exhibits and defends his theses. Therefore, he resorts to discursive strategies that reveal such an important argumentative omnipotence. The « rhetorical question », one of the subterfuges used to argue in favor of one or more conclusion(s), will be the subject of this present contribution where we strive to dissect its inscriptions and even its role in the argumentative speech of the written press which relates to the events relating to the fifth term coveted by the former president Abdelaziz Bouteflika

Dans cette contribution, qui fait partie d’un travail s’inscrivant dans le cadre d’une thèse de doctorat en sciences du langage, nous nous intéressons à une des stratégies argumentatives omniprésentes dans l’éditorial. Ce dernier, en tant qu’un article d’opinion tenant du pôle « implication-commentaire », est le lieu idéal où l’énonciateur/journaliste exhibe et défend ses thèses. Par conséquent, il recourt à des stratégies discursives qui révèlent une omnipotence argumentative si importante. La « question rhétorique », un des subterfuges qui servent à argumenter en faveur d’une ou de plusieur(s) conclusion(s), fera l’objet de cette présente contribution où nous nous escrimons à disséquer ses inscriptions voire son rôle dans le discours argumentatif de la presse écrite qui se rapporte aux évènements ayant traits au cinquième mandat convoité par l’ancien président Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
