هذه الدراسة بعنوان مشاهدات في مرآة الحرمين لصاحبها إبراهيم رفعت باشا (١٣١٨ ه/ ١٩٠١ م- ١٣٢٥ ه/ ١٩٠٨ م)، وهي رحلة من الرحلات الدينية الرسمية لأداء فريضة الحج، وصاحب الرحلة هو أمير القافلة وتناولت مشاهدات الرحلة في عدة جوانب وقد قسمت الدراسة إلى تمهيد وأربعة مباحث وخاتمة بأهم نتائج البحث وقائمة بمصادر ومراجع البحث. وجاء التمهيد بعنوان (أمير الحج وأبرز مهامه) وتناول في المبحث الأول تعريف بصاحب الرحلة، وكتابه (مرآة الحرمين). والمبحث الثاني بعنوان مهام إمارة الحج. ثم المبحث الأول بعنوان المشاهدات السياسية وتناول الاحتفالات السياسية، الوفود السياسية المرافقة للمحمل في رحلته. ثم السلطة المحلية وأركانها في الحجاز، وعرضت للأوضاع الداخلية، وتأثير ذلك على رحلة الحج. وفي المبحث الثاني عنوانه المشاهدات الأمنية وتعرض الرحلة لذكر العديد من المشاهد الأمنية التي مرت بها الرحلة وهي تعد مفصلا رئيسيا في هذه الرحلة. وانقسم إلى ثلاث عناصر مؤثرة في الأمن وهي القوات العسكرية وإنشاء القلاع، التصدي للحوادث الأمنية، التخطيط لسير الرحلة. وفي المبحث الثالث عنوانه مشاهدات اقتصادية وتناولت الرحلة تفاصيل الجوانب المالية آنذاك، ونفقات الحملة وهي تكاليف نقل القافلة. موظفي المحمل المرافقين للحملة. توزيع المرتبات والمصروفات. ثم خاتمة بأبرز النتائج التي توصلت لها الدراسة، وقائمة بالمصادر والمراجع.
This study is entitled Observations in the Mirror of the Two Holy Mosques for its owner Ibrahim Refaat Pasha (1318 AH/ 1901 AD- 1325 AH/ 1908 AD), and it is one of the official religious trips to perform the Hajj, and the owner of the trip is the emir of the caravan, and it dealt with the observations of the trip in several aspects. Then the local authority and its pillars in the Hijaz, and presented the internal conditions, and the impact of this on the pilgrimage journey. ? In the second topic entitled Security Views, the trip is presented to mention many of the security scenes that the trip went through, which is a major detail in this trip. It was divided into three elements affecting security: the military forces, the establishment of fortresses, the response to security incidents, and the planning of the journey. In the third topic, entitled Economic Observations, the trip details the financial aspects at the time, and the campaign expenses, which are the costs of transporting the convoy.
