يهدف البحث إلى وتوضيح العلاقات الوظيفية المتبادلة بين المدينة وإقليمها، تنبع أهمية هذا البحث في إبراز نفوذ إقليم مدينة شمبات وقد اعتمد الباحث على العمل الميداني وقد، استخدم الباحث المنهج المسحي والتحليل والمنهج العلمي المعاصر. أهم النتائج التي توصل إليها إقليم مدينة شمبات قام على أساس العلاقة الاقتصادية والسكانية والثقافية المتبادلة بين المدينة وإقليمها، وحدد إقليم المدينة عن طريق خطوط النقل حيث يمتد عن طريقها إلى خارج المحلية إلى ولاية نهر النيل وإقليمها الصناعي والتعليمي يمتد إلى مدن السودان الأخرى. أما الخدمي الثقافي فيمتد إلى الريف الشمالي محلية بحري. وأهم التوصيات يجب أن نضع المدينة داخل إطارها الإقليمي وتنمية الريف الشمالي محلية بحري بإقامة المشاريع الزراعية والصناعية والتجارية وأن نقوم بإنشاء الخدمات في الريف الشمالي لمحلية بحري.
This research dealt with the region of the city of Shambat through the following chapters: 1/ The methodological introduction to the research, the theoretical framework “the city region”, the geography of the study area, the region of the city of Shambat, and the conclusion, which contains the results and recommendations. The importance of this research it is to show regional function of shambat city and the aim of it to show the relationship between the city and the region of it. The researcher has relied on field work and has used the survey and analytical method and the contemporary scientific method. The most important findings reached by the region of the city of Shambat was based on the mutual economic, demographic and cultural relationship between the city and its region. The Nile River and its industrial and educational territory extend to the other cities of Sudan. As for the cultural service, it extends to the northern countryside of Bahri locality. The most important recommendations are that we must place the city within its regional framework and develop the northern countryside of Bahri locality by establishing agricultural, industrial and commercial projects and establishing services in the northern countryside of Bahri locality.
